James Upshall Pipes - A Discussion

Got a new one, not sure if Ken is still around but I’d love his take! A P grade. That sitter Dublin Ken has for sale almost made me break, I’d love to own one of his pipes some day. Smoking this one now and it’s fantastic.

    Percolator Coffee

Perc coffee is some of the better I've had. I like my stovetop espresso. But yes, I really enjoy well made percolated coffee. Cafe Bustelo in a perc around a fire is a wonderful thing.

    The metamorphosis

Nice, banjo. Been curious about Doctor's Pipes. He really has his own style.

    Doomsday Pipe

I figure a hand axe will be enough to get what I need from the preppers.

    Silver VIP At SP

Actually I think I must be wrong about that, looking at my recent orders with them I've not ordered all that much this year and I'm still silver. I have been doing business more than 10 years though.

    Silver VIP At SP

someone dug into this awhile ago I think and the answer was that Silver was something like ~$2k spent in a year, and it expires after the year is up. I believe someone had called and asked what the threshold was for gold and the answer was essentially "lol, if you have to ask..."

Is There a Specific Era That You Won't Buy a Pipe From?

Who sez the White Spot pipes are no good? I think they had a rough patch in the 80s or so (the one 80s era pipe I had was certainly a dog) but all my White Spots smoke great.

Show Off Your Castello Pipes Here!

npod your collection is amazing. I had an Occhio opera that I sold years ago but wish I could lead you to it. Someone on smokersforums in the Castello subforum got it when that place was still... alive.

    Axel Glasner pipes

I'm curious if anyone has tried his pipes, and if so, if you know where the heck to find them or how to contact him. I see scandpipes and this one in particular is quite nice http://www.scandpipes.com/pipes/297-axel-glasner/4014-chubby-bent-facet/ I love his paneling style but the ones I've...

    Hot Sauce!

Mad Dog 357 ghost pepper sauce is fantastic. It has a nice smokey flavor that really stands out. The Mad Dogs in general are my favorite. For pure flavor with just a bit of heat though, Diemen's regular (not Stinger) hot sauce is the best I've ever had. https://www.diemens.com.au/ But I think...

    Castello Find

Under $20 is unreal, good work. It's an older one without the Ks, and the fact that it's called an Old Antiquari, which it is. Old Antiquaris used to be the sea rock finish but with a fumed rim, prior to being the grade they used for sandblast pieces (specifically in the US). Plus the diamond...

    Recommend a pipe roll.

How are you guys carrying these things around? I've had a Bradley Mountain one for a bit but to be honest it's just too big and it's easier to just put a pipe in my pocket with a lighter, and a pouch in my back pocket. I guess more for stowing in bags for travel? I like them in theory but...

    Cellaring - Where to begin

Just don't. As someone who has a lot of tobacco it's a weird thing. And if you cellar when you're 23 it'll likely be sour crap by the time you're 70 anyways, even if you only cellar amazing Virginias.
