There is a paypal donation in Ed's name to send a flower arrangement and possibly a plaque in Ed's honor for the Dr Grabow factory. It's in Troy's account on The Grabow forum. He's a longtime member and I have complete trust he will use the funds accordingly.
If anyone would like to donate...
This is truly a sad day. Ed was the cornerstone of DGCF and PM. My first friend in the pipe community, and the man who mentored me as a fledgling pipe restorer. Ed was one of the most genuine and generous guys you'd ever meet. He will be greatly missed.
Welcome aboard Nick. Great looking Ultrafine. This was a high grade model sporting a solid gold band and a Meer-lined bowl. My Sterncrest's never let me down. Great old burners.
Another top notch save Anthony. Btw if you posted every resto, it still wouldn't be old news. I love seeing your resto blogs.
You make it look easy. But I know just how difficult it is to match a stain after rim repairs. There are so many variables involved.
With every Tom Dick and Harry...
A little off the trail but you can still get vulcanite stems from Grabow. You have to be a preferred forum member of DGCF. They will re-stem any Grabow for $11.
I'm a huge fan of both shows.
Crowder has a pipe stand on his desk for his show.
Joe Rogan said it was way too much work to smoke a pipe. Steven tried to explain the process of lighting, tamping, etc is part of the relaxing and meditative experience.
I thought it was great to see the briar go...
Not an expert, but if you like it then it's collectable. I restored a handful of Weber's for other people and they were drop dead gorgeous.
I have a sandblasted Weber author that was my grandfathers. If it had a white dot it would pass as a Dunny.
