What Music Are You Listening To? (December 2017)

Philo, after seeing all your listings I’ve been on a Zappa binge. Listening to Zappa’s Lumpy Gravy. I love this album start to finish.

    1941 GBD Hallmark Billiard

Nice work. That’s a classic beauty. Don’t worry about the scratches. A little patina looks good on a pipe that old. Btw, I call first dibs if you’re selling.

Stanwell Brushed Brown Pipes $19 Pipesandcigars.com

Thanks for the heads up Weed. I nabbed a bent dublin 405 and fat rim rhodie 95 for $40. That’s a steal. Hey Piffyr, are you planning on making a “brushed rustic” ?

@jpm That looks heavenly. How old is it? How are you measuring the moisture levels so specifically?

    Need Help Identifying Grandfather's Pipe

The rustication indicates it’s a Sculptured model line. Sculptured models received a different rustic pattern than all other models. The two dot accents were used on the older Purex models. It’s unusual to see this combination together.

    Holiday Toast to the Mods

They all seem pretty cool except that Al guy. Just kiddin. We love ya buddy. Pulling the weeds is a thankless job but I appreciate it. Kudos to the referees for keeping this place civil.

    Peddler's Mall Find

    14. I was close. That’s a lovely picture. Great collection. I can see you’ve been putting the miles on them. I’m fairly sure 6 down left side was on my workbench at one point? I never forget a pretty face. Does the New Years res include the GBD version of the 904? I think we found a loophole...

    Peddler's Mall Find

A 904? That just doesn’t seem like your style. Congrats she’s a looker. Are we talking a bakers dozen now?

    New to VaPer's, Needs Advice..

Jesse’s “short list” is more than most people’s cellars. But he’s right. The smoking technique is the key. Slow, slow, slow. Almost on the border of smoldering. Not a blazing fire. A tall skinny billiard is what I prefer for Virginia’s.

Mold or Magic ? Something Groweth in the Cellar

Thanks guys. I guess I’ll find out for sure in another 1.5 years.

Mold or Magic ? Something Groweth in the Cellar

I bought another cabinet to expand the cellar and while rearranging, found this... This is 3.5 year old Samuel Gawith Bothy Flake. The tobacco could be a little older, but I date them from the time I receive them, unless the tin is already marked. So is this mold or is this the magical sugar...

Another eBay Pick Up GBD Sterling Silver

Nice score. Post the aftershots when it’s cleaned up. That’s a 1941. Most from this era were simply stamped GBD without a model name.
