    I smoke it down to the fine last 1/5 of the bowl and just dump out the damp, sour “filter” layer of tobacco. Leave the fine white ash to the legends of pipology.

    You’ve answered your own question. It’s a Stanwell. I’m very happy with all my Stanwell’s. Even my Brush Brown Italian made Stanwell is a great burner.

    Yes it would be nice if the OP (original poster) spelled out the item of discussion just once in tobacco threads. I’m not familiar with all 10K blends on the market. My favorite blend at the moment is JA BF. It’s great. You should try it.
