It's got Lubinski stamped on the stem and a Sphinx emblem carved into the stalk. When I bought it was labelled as some un pronouncable (for me) Asian name yet Lubinski sounds Eastern European to me and we know where the Sphinx comes from. Hope that wasn't confusing? Just to keep folks posted, I've managed, through patience and deft, gentle probing with a cleaner, to find the way through the metal bar obstructing the draft hole! Yes, a clear draft hole is less fuss but I'm getting it down to an art now and am able to clean the pipe only slightly slower than...- Pazzerpipe

Thanks fellers, I have a couple of normal briars on order. Not sure if I can ask this in this particular thread but what is the difference between Flake and Ready Rubbed tobacco and if I bought Flake how exactly do you rub it? Sorry but I'm a complete novice.- Pazzerpipe

I use alcohol already to clean my other pipe, tks but again I'd have to pour it into the bowl and hope it breaks up any clag underneath as I can't fit a pipe cleaner into the draft hole. I tried the hot water and quite a bit of crap was forced out the shank. Thank you all again for the help...- Pazzerpipe

It's plastic? Yes I believe it has a metal liner. That doesn't bother me too much, it's the metal obstructing the draft hole preventing cleaning with a pipe cleaner.- Pazzerpipe

I bought it from Amazon and it is a Joyoldelf SD 735 or at least that's what is stamped on the bowl. It was cheap, I'm a newbie and it is a nice smoke but not being able to clean the draft hole and the chamber underneath the bowl is concerning me.- Pazzerpipe

Not that I can see. At the bottom of the bowl is a base with 3 small holes in it, i presume to allow a better draw? The smoke then travels up through the draw hole but as i say there is a horizontal metal bar for want of a better word, between draft hole and shank that is preventing me from...- Pazzerpipe
