    Beginner Blend Progression

An easy way to get decent rotation from a one-stop shop is Missouri Meerschaum pouches. They are pretty decent for what they are, and they run the gamut. Burley forward blend (Missouri Pride), English crossover (American Patriot), VaPerKy (Country Gent), and a well behaved aro (Great Dane). I...

    Tobacco Rotation.

I smoke sporadically these days, I am trying to smoke up out the blends I have jarred. I have pretty much settled on 3 favorites, so after the various jars are consumed, I will be opening tins as needed and smoke from there. I think MSO said it, tobacco is more forgiving than you think.

    Washing Mason Jars?

New jars get filled without washing. After they are empty, hand wash and up on the shelf they go until needed again.

    Is it aromatic?

See, all I had to do was mention Lakelands........

    Is it aromatic?

Gotcha. I may have missed it, but I haven't seen anything about them in a while. Always good to throw that in the mix just to see what floats.

    Is it aromatic?

This is a fun conversation to read. And 35 posts into it there is no definitive answers, at least I don't think there is. And just for more fun, can I throw Lakelands into the mix? Kidding, kidding. my .02 - and it's worth much less than that - is anything with a sweet, non-tobacco taste is...

Old Wisdom / New Wisdom from G.L. Pease's December 2022 Column

I'm guilty of this as well - seems harder to find time to relax with a pipe, but if I want to get one in it is usually hurried. Not ideal by any means. BTW - any glass can be a wine glass.... :)

    Desert Island Tobacco

London Mixture if I could have anything. Westminster if it had to be current production.

    Cellaring Aromatics

I have some aros that are 5+ years old. Some in tins which I can't comment on, some in jars that I dip in to from time to time. I can detect a minimal amount of fade to the flavors from the jarred aros. I would say for the most part it is safe to stock up. My "cellar" of aromatics is a...

    Greetings and Salutations from Atlanta

Welcome from Illinois, and I have to agree about Autumn Evening, I just can't get to like that blend. I have a bit left in the jar and will continue to give it a try every year or so.

Ran Into A Guy Smoking a Pipe

I'm surprised how often I smell pipe smoke from a vehicle when I am out on the bike. When my wife is with me I'll point out that there is a pipe smoker somewhere in front of us. So, there are some out and about around here.

    What are Your Hobbies?

Cooking, wine, beer, and motorcycles. The first three usually go together. I have the bike parked before beer or wine. Love to roll into a town, clean up, then find a local place with local food and drinks.
