    1947 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Ad

That's incredible Fish! Are we invited to your birthday party? I won't bring my big pipes, promise!

    Elusive Tobacco Bliss

And here I was thinking, finally! Someone had found a match for the 1962 Balkan Sobraine white or Penzance or '83 Red Ribbon. Nope just another dream up in smoke! :-)

    Supply/Demand For Penzance/Stonehaven

Are we talking standard MSRP? Or the "we got it, you want it" price? Because with the former I'd get a bag or two of each and call it a day. With the latter I'd just stay here and watch the show.

Pipes Have Improved My Cigar Palate

Yep, and it goes the other way, sometimes, for me as well. I smoke cigars at the B&M as "part if the job" lol and often I'll go a few days without smoking any pipe tobacco and when I do it's like I'm really tasting it like it should be. I've grown as a former cigar guy who years ago only liked...

    stinking cobs...

No oven unless you enjoy living alone. Even then I'd have to really think about it.

    Where to start!

Personally, my recommendation is to smoke through as best you can what you've listed above. I doubt that they will all have you doing backflips but there will surely be one or two that sing for you. Tongue bite is a precaution I'd throw in with heavily cased aro's so sip slowly and try to keep...

    Where to start!

Welcome! I'm not an Aro guy but I sell a ton of it in the shop I work p/t in. That Sutliff Vanila Custard has been killing it with the guys that come in and the room note and jar/pouch note are enough to make me salivate. Some of the more seasoned guys tell me it's a great tasting blend. Enjoy!

SP Mistakenly Blasts Email Saying Penzance In Stock

I bet their IT guys love having to deal with a fried server on a Friday evening over 45 bags of pipe weed. It's probably still smoldering. Lol.

Making a Match for Seattle Pipe Club's Mississippi River

Mashing a bunch of proprietary blends together can create its own set of problems and often times ends in disaster. Each blender always uses some type of casing (usually a secret) and sometimes a topping. Start mixing all those together and you might end up with a sardine and jelly sandwich. If...

    New Condor Lover

Who would ever guess that in this day and age a lowly OTC pouch tobacco could ruin so many true pipe tobacco afficianido's? It's complex, flavorful and full bodied. Brass's description of "unique" sums it up in a word. If all Lakelands were like Condor it would or could be life changing.

Zippo Pipe Lighters and Pipe Wall Integrity

I'm certainly no expert on the subject but as a zippo user I'm having a difficult time accepting that damage was caused by the device itself. I've seen similar and even worse examples but those people in general do nothing to care for their pipes. Yeah, if you rest the insert right on the wood...

    When does it become relaxing?

There are some great tips here that people have posted that if followed, should help you to improve your technique and hopefully bring out some joy into your foray into pipe smoking. What pisses me off to no end is when someone (who perhaps isn't even exclusively a pipe smoker) would suggest...

Do former cigeratte smokers favour VA over anything else?

Profound statement there. Had I not completely kicked the cig habit/addiction I doubt that I would've got into either pipes or cigars. I tried more than once to get into cigars while still smoking cigs but just didn't get it, at all. My hopes and prayers are with anyone that truly wants to quit...

    Introduction into virginias

FVF is IMO one of the tastiest Virginia flakes of the many I've smoked. If there's one caveat it's that it requires an ample amount if drying time, tin or bulk. It's just the nature of all the Gawith blends in my experience. Give a flake a loose rub onto a plate and let it sit for a day. Rub it...

I hate Stonehaven, it's not worth the $$, it's too hard to get. :-)

    Samuel Gawith's Grousemoor

I heard a British gent liken the tin note to what the Queens un-mentionable's probably smell like. That ruined any chance of me ever trying it.

OK guys - I Need Your Help - Tell Me Which One To Smoke First?

Without knowing what your tolerance levels are I'd go with the FM for openers. Nightcap after a good meal in a cool environment. My own constitution keeps me wary of any DFK blends unless I'm sitting down with a full stomach. Nightcap doesn't bother me but the Kentucky leaf can affect me if I'm...

    It's Hot Outside

I've been smoking more cigars as well during the current rash of hot, humid weather. I did smoke some Astleys #2 the other day which was tasty and tolerable given the temps. OGS is great this time of year too. I've also taken advantage of this down time to deep clean some pipes, more normal...

New Blends Coming From Standard Tobbaco Of Pennsylvania

Am I understanding all this correctly? There's a reincarnation of Bengal Slices coming out of Standard Tobacco too?
