Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

No offense taken. I am respectfully learning a gentleman's pastime. I wish more women smoked a pipe...but then the men would never get a break! lol

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thank you. You verbalized much of what was rolling around in my brain in terms of question marks. I do see the roads part ways between those that smoke to enjoy, and those that smoke to enjoy the conversation between man and pipe that appears to be unique each time. Neither road better than the...

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thanks Mortonbriar...your mention of building a fire took me back a ways. When I was much younger, I remember my dad taking my brother and I camping around Strawberry and Pinecrest in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He drove us up near the Waterhouse trailhead and we hiked all the way down into the...

First Home Grown Fig In 6 Years.

That looks like a really beautiful fig! Congrats!

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

You are most kind, thank you. I will try my other two non-chimney pipes and make notes. 🙏 :)

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Appreciate your reply. The 'knack' you speak of seems more like an incredibly refined skill! :)

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thanks Sig. This is helpful as well. Coming into it new, my thought was a typical one...no matter the blend, smoke it down to the bottom of the bowl. I also do not have a range for moisture in the tobacco yet by feel. So I could be thinking my aromatic is dry enough, when it could still have too...

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thanks! I was wondering if this was also a viable option.

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thanks for your reply. Aromatic is what attracted me to pipe smoking...I look forward to eventually branching out. Does vitamin N stand for tobacco? I spotted this in a few posts, but wasn't sure.

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Yes I am grateful for the many family friendly folks here. I do see that you have a lego avatar with a handle that most likely is not your given birth name if I had to wager? Although if it is...let me clear a spot by the campfire to hear the backstory! I am sure you can relate.;)

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Eva Green the actress, yes. I chose her as an avatar both for the cool photos of her pipe smoking, and I am a fan of the HBO series Penny Dreadful that she starred in. This in lieu of not wanting to post my own image in a public forum like many here.

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

I have been enjoying lots of pipe-smoking themed youtube videos (Hobbiton Piper I like...very easy approach without looking down one's nose at the audience or individual), and observed the tamping you describe. I thought the word only referred to the action of the tamper tool...so I am grateful...

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

That's nice! I do a lot of bulk ordering with my pantry and other auxiliary items. Definitely in my wheelhouse. 😌

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thank you for sharing. :) I like that the chips/keystones can be used several times being an added expense.

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Thank you! Still getting a handle on vocabulary here. Today, I filled the pipe too lightly, so needed to attenuate with my fingers over the top of the bowl more. I can sacrifice the last bit if necessary. Would rather wrap up a smoking session with the bowl on a good note and end it there or...

Question on Last 3rd of the Bowl

Background: I am cutting my noobie teeth this week on a churchwarden (Balzac 129) with a chimney bowl, and a generic brand aromatic ribbon. I have had some really lovely fleeting moments with this tobacco. Today I hit the middle of the bowl and tasted a new note of corn. Not so much shellfish...

    Hello from Los Angeles, CA

So...many...yoga..studios...🙄 I think I even saw a yoga studio for dogs somewhere here in LA while I was driving around a while back. LA never misses an opportunity to create a business to pamper the human and everything living around it by extension. :ROFLMAO:

    Hello from Los Angeles, CA

Hello! 🙋‍♀️ I have passed through Heathrow several times, and spent an afternoon in London, and a week in Manchester many years ago. Not nearly as much time as I would like to have spent exploring.
