    Ah, That McClellands Smell

I'm sure this has been asked many times, but what is a currently available blend that comes closest to matching this aroma/taste...

Do You Associate Pipe Smoking with a Sense of Spirituality?

Love this article from many years ago. Breaks down the 4 main types of tobacco consumption from a Catholic perspective and basically calls dip users savages... Tobacco and the Soul | Michael P. Foley - https://www.firstthings.com/article/1997/04/tobacco-and-the-soul

A Look at STG Internal Documents Regarding the Mac Baren / Sutliff Buyout

I hope C&D somehow manages to come out ahead with the blends... No more Nightcap would be sad.

A Look at STG Internal Documents Regarding the Mac Baren / Sutliff Buyout

I wonder what the story on Peterson/Dunhill blends is? Laudisi/C&D owns Peterson, so why aren't they blending this in house? I would have to imagine they will start, unless there is some kind of legal right to the blends that STG now owns.

    How Cold Is Too Cold?

These coveralls are rated -50° F... think it might be my ticket to winter smoking.

What is Your Lighter of Choice?

Lotus Condor. big fuel capacity, built in tools, flame adjustment without any special tools, and no screw or caps to remove to fill. The ultimate substance over style lighter. Performance is great.

    Favorite Cigarillos?

Ashton Connecticuts are top of the heap for me... I do like the undercrown cigarillos, but you have to snip the ends. that's kind of a no-no for me and cigarillos. if i'm already being lazy enough to do a cigarillo, i don't want to be bothered with cutting. :)

    Turkish Latakia v. Cyprian Latakia

Could just be me, but I prefer Turkish over Cyprian. Cyprian always hits me as too fragrant or that it has a perfume aftertaste in some blends that use it. Turkish, however, seems to be more savory/bbq, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

Pirate Kake is very good, but I usually need to dry mine.

    Smoking a Pipe with GERD/Reflux

Smoking is one of those things that supposedly makes GERD/Acid reflux worse... so why does it make mine feel better? Multiple times per day, I have acid creep up in my throat, causing a burning sensation. But as soon as I start puffing, it almost immediately alleviates it. Long term it's bad...

    WTF do Parents Think? Rant!

I get what you're saying, but that's a very modern mentality. Should you do your best to protect the elderly and infirmed? Sure. Did you consider that a lot of the elderly would rather take the risk of minor infection than not get to see their young ones? Also, use of the term "breeder" is...

    May Become My #1

My experience is it needs a while to dry out. I let it dry for a half hour and that wasn't even close to enough time. Very difficult to keep lit. Of course, the nasty Missouri humidity could be a factor as well. The next time I take a run at it, I'm going to dry it for at least 3 hours and...

I've got a jar of PBJ (visions of celephais+Wilke pb) aging intentionally in my jeep. Should be ready after 1 year. - 15° to 110°
