    How "NOT" to Inhale Smoke?

You bring up a good point. When I smoke aros I didn’t get that feeling between my throat and lungs. When I switched to English I did.

    One Light Pipe

Right on. I tried that tonite but the bowl was getting pretty warm even with a light pack. Does the tobacco cut or bowl size factor in?

    One Light Pipe

I’ve heard people “complain” that they have to do multiple re-lights on their pipe. Personally I enjoy re-lighting my pipe. Are there any tips for being able to smoke a bowl with zero or minimal re-lights, yet still enjoy the bowl without thinking about how many times you have to light?

    Recovering from Insanity

An example of insanity is when you figure out the best way to pack a pipe, it smokes great and everything, but THEN you decide to change how you pack your pipe and you keep trying new ways, even though you already know the best way to pack. You keep trying new methods and you get frustrated...

    New Kiribi Lighter

Have you tried the butane Zippo?

Take Your Time Preparing a Bowl

I completely agree. Spending a couple extra minutes getting it ready to smoke in order to get an enjoyable bowl is worth the time.

Night Cap vs Magnum Opus: Battle of the Bold

Which is a real shame because Magnum sounds like Dirty Harry which is cool. But Magnum Opus sounds mysterious. I still refer to its original name.

Night Cap vs Magnum Opus: Battle of the Bold

I did a side by side comparison between Night Cap and Magnum Opus. Both are full flavored with Latakia, Orientals, and Perique. Flavors are similar: smokey and spicy. Night Cap is more of a nic hit, while Magnum Opus mellows you out. Both are excellent.

Take Your Time Preparing a Bowl

Yup. I’ll get the pipe puffing just enough to think it’s going but it’s only half lit and then it snowballs from there.

Take Your Time Preparing a Bowl

Yeah it’s hit or miss. Some days I get perfection. Other I’m like a drunk clown at a circus lol. I figure if I can get into a good rhythm of doing things right so the correct procedures become second nature it’ll become second nature like you said. Sometimes I get sloppy.

How Long does a Smoke Last?

A looser pack may help or a smaller bowl.

Take Your Time Preparing a Bowl

I’m learning to slow down my cadence when smoking a bowl, but I’m also learning to slow down and prepare a bowl right. A proper pack with a nice draw, and also getting a good char light so that it’ll create a good ember to give me that slow sipping enjoyment.

How Long does a Smoke Last?

That’s a great question. Bowl size and depth, along with how you pack, plus the cut of the tobacco all factor in to how long a smoke will be. A mid size bowl could give you that 30-45 smoke.

My go to night cap blend is Magnum Opus by H&H.

    Puffing like Dirty Harry

I have a naturally fast cadence when I smoke. I’ve tried various packing methods (3 step, Frank, etc) and for my pace, the bowl would get hot cuz of my cadence. Not enough air flow as I learned. I have to pack, for some would think, ridiculously loose (gravity feed). It works for me and I can...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

I started off with aromatics, then moved onward to non-aros, Virginias, Va-Pers, and now finding myself enjoying English blends. Never thought the transition would happen so fast. Within a month or so.
