    What’s for Lunch?

It's Wednesday! That's when my neighborhood Tex-Mex has a lunch special on cheese enchiladas. I try to get my fix once a month, and today is the day. Chips and Salsa are always complementary in a Tex-Mex restaurant. The one on the left is medium spicy, carefully made, slow cooked, and...

    What's For Dinner?

Not in my book! An old family secret ingredient I'll share with you is to add 1 tbs of bacon fat to the butter as well ;)

    What's For Dinner?

Saturday, Simmered a whole chicken nice and slow, Cut up the sausage Made the Roux (Northern Louisiana golden roux made with butter, not oil, cause that's the way we do) Prepped and added the Holy Trinity to the cooked roux... stir around till veggies get tender. Add to chicken stock from...

What is Appealing about Pipe Smoking?

I have indeed! I feel fortunate to have experienced some things most people don't get a chance to experience. Sailing the Sea's in the Merchant Marines to living in the mountains as a self-subscribed mountain man, along with a whole lot of shit stuffed in between. It hasn't been very...

    Favorite GLP

Mainly Chealsea Morning, which I have every morning with my coffee. But several times a week I'll smoke a bowl of Sparkplug or Quiet Nights in the evening.

    Premium: A Quality to Ponder

That's a good question. Personally, I don't like, nor buy or smoke the sloppy juiced blends your referencing. I've always considered a premium blend to be a non-codger blend. I can't say I personally grade the premium blends from more to less premium. It could be the same reason all the...

    Pipe Cleaning Recommendations for Newbies

It's just a personal preference thing. I don't think you're going to mess your pipe up whichever you choose to use. Try them all and see which one works best for you.

What is Appealing about Pipe Smoking?

I remember sitting in my dads lap about 60 years ago, watching him load and light a pipe. Along with the aroma, it transfixed me. He quit pipes and started cigarettes and cigars when I was about 10. I bought my first pipe in 1982. Unfortunately, I tried to smoke aromatics. I didn't have much...

    Another Level Of Snobbery.

I'm not a fan of instant coffee, but this is backpacking. It requires sacrifices. Don't care much for freeze dried food either, but it comes with backpacking. Do what you need to do and to hell with anyone that doesn't understand it.

    New Piper Here

Welcome from Texas! I think you will find non-aromatics are less likely to gurgle and bite you, as long as you sip slowly.

Getting Older, Getting In Shape, and Rucking.

Good for you! Keep up the good work! I wish I had your energy. I'm gonna sit back, load a bowl of something worthy, poor a neat bourbon and salute your fortitude! Cheers puffy

    Savinelli Is Messing Up Badly

I agree with this. If the OP has sensetivity issues with pipe stains, he's gonna have huge problems with acetone. To the OP: If you plan on sending it back, do not use acetone on it.
