Yeah that Dark Fired sure adds some intrigue to it! This was perhaps the most labored over of the blends during the prototype phase--after all, it's a pretty broad genre, and difficult to keep from throwing in everything but the kitchen sink while constructing a distinct flavor. The blend...
How you liking that Bedloe's Island, dragon? I hear it's good stuff! I'm still waiting for my first order of it to be picked up from my office in Joisey.
So tonight it's Quiet Nights in the Tim West freehand. My first smoke of this stuff, and the preliminary report is that it's damn good.
I'm in the same boat with my oldest cat, ns--the ACV is a helpful maintenance and emergency treatment, but do be careful about overdoing it--no more than 10-20cc/day. I'd definitely recommend seeking out a vet that takes a holistic approach; I'm fortunate to have a great one that is also a...
Good to see such a nice collection lovingly attended! You'll be able to pass every one of those on to the next generation of smokers (or use them as black market gold, depending on if the doomsayers are correct  ).
I don't think you read too much into it at all. On the surface it's a clever and bizarre juxtaposition, but when you look at it from a meter back it takes on such dark overtones as to be brilliant. Especially the end monologue about the big rain, with all the characters fluttering through the...
It's 4-star brilliant, and funny in that biting, cringing, satirical way that makes it more than the sum of its disparate parts. It deserves its own thread.
Taxi Driver was a social commentary on the immediately post-Vietnam American mind; this guy Bryan Boyce has subtly updated it to speak to...
If you're sending one to the hospital for a repair, send them both. You won't regret it, and you'll have 2 beautiful pipes for far less than you'd get either one new.
One thing worth mentioning with cellaring tins: keep them away from moisture. I've begun keeping all my tins in large waterproof plastic storage containers with a silica gel packet, after noticing some surface rust on tins that were around last summer on my shelf. OCD? Maybe. But I know that...
Do it! Worst that will happen is you can trade it off or cellar it for later. I have been underwhelmed by most Esoterica offerings; the liquorice is very mild in this one, and is mainly to temper the flavor, not make it an aromatic. It's good, but not great, for me--but you may love it.
To clarify, I believe steyrshrek is recommending this not to taste your pipe or to look cool (though it accomplishes both), but to help prevent rim char from use of the lighter.
Stick with matches, it's better for the tobacco and for the ritual of it.
As far as tobacco selection--just...
Of course this is largely a matter of personal taste, as in everything gustatory that we indulge in. With that proviso, I'll be happy to share what works for me, as it's something I've obviously given a lot of thought to (perhaps too much  )
Early Grey is a wonderful tea that it's hard to...
Interestingly, Frenchy's has less Perique in it than Anniversary Kake--due to the components of the blend, though, particularly the bright Virginia, the nicotine tends to kick a little harder. It's one of my favorites in the genre, for sure.
