Do Dyed Meers Lose their Color?

I would think colored Meers would color over time just like briar does. May take awhile but I bet it will darken. Look at a tan briar, see the example of my own. Meer is more pourous than briar so I would think it would behave similarly. The second photo is a couple of years old. This pipe...

How Long does a Bowl Take?

My bowl sizes are mostly medium (3/4" ID x 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" deep). Takes me 1 hour to 1 hour 45 minutes. That's for Flake Tobacco which takes longer.

How and Why do you Clench?

Just seems like the way to do it for me. Keeps my hands free to do other things. I don't fermenter a time when I did anything other than clench. For the most part, the pipe stays in my mouth except to change the position from one side to the other. No issues with gurgling.

    Saving Dottle for Smoking Later?

I would rarely have enough Doyle left to make it worthwhile. Even if I did, I wouldn't want to smoke moist, saliva soaked leftovers later. With the low cost of pipe tobacco, what's the point?

    Pipe Smoking and Cancer

I think the relevant number is 8,880. If they had the numbers from that 8,880 for bowls smoked per day and some type of health report over time, I suppose they could come up with something meaningful. I'll bet the majority of that 8,880 surveyed though smoked 1 bowl or less per day. Unless there...

    Pipe Smoking and Cancer

I would guess the data base is too small to have enough data to determine anything meaningful. However, common sense should prevail. I believe it is safe to say the 10 bowl per day smoker is at a significantly greater risk than the 1-3 bowl per day. How significant? Without tons of data, who...
