My first smoke out of the garage this year!
I forgot how quickly the sun works to dry out tobacco!!
Bella Vanilla. Almost all the way through the tin and still haven't figured out how to keep the bottom 1/2 from becoming a wet ball of mush in my pipe.
A zippo is like a candle with a lid. It is an oil soaked fabric instead of being wax covered fabric.
The wick is full of fuel (unless it is empty) and will ignite with a spark, staying lit until the lid is shut.
They didn't have fidget toys when I was a kid, I had a zippo but kids could not...
Personally, I can tell my zippo is almost full, because the insert gets cold to the touch as the fluid level rises.
On the other hand, I don’t like the idea of possibly dropping a lighter that stays lit when dropped.
I hit up YouTube to see how blind people used to navigate smoking cigarettes. I saw some interviews with an entertaining fellow, basically the secret for him was having a lot of ashtrays :)
Things I think about, with a likely insensitive bias, if I were to be blinded:
Fire is so quiet that I’d be worried about handling things in my home like zippo fluid.
I suppose a butane lighter, bic, or matches would be my preference. Matches probably.
I’d think about a meer so I don’t have to...
Not too fancy:
Bigelow English Breakfast Tea.
(Or any black tea besides Earl Grey)
Slowly pour over with gooseneck tea kettle, watch it “bloom”
Steep 3-4 minutes. Remove bag, don’t squeeze it into your drink. This helps keep tannins out.
Strange home blend (leftovers), in a bent meer.
The blend:
2 day old dottle from a bowl of Bella Vanilla that I forgot...
Dumped the 1/4 bowl of wet dottle in a cup, stirred in a tbsp some overly dry rubbed out flake, which was previously re-hydrated with cheap whiskey.
Sweet, Whiskey...
I see. This is one of the things keeping me from making a video tutorial on how to use a rope lighter with pipe.
I’ve told my folks that I smoke a pipe, but it feels disrespectful to let them see it, or any evidence of it. Strange? :-)
Rope lighter!
I can’t predict who would win, but I see the the odds in favor of New Zealand.
I had a dream that I bought a clay and was clenching it by mistake. If I can find one locally you may get a US entry as well.
