A parcel arrived a couple of days ago with 3 bags of Wild West themed blends from The Country Squire. A very generous gift from Robin aka @SunriseBoy Yesterday’s smoke - Cherokee in an Ann Julie designed Stanwell shape 183. Designed to take a 9mm filter. I tried a Peterson filter for the...

    A Pair of Old Survivors

Lovely looking Civic. I’ve been perplexed at the paucity of Civics. Considering it is a cornerstone brand of Cadogan one would expect to come across them as frequently as a BBB or a Comoy.

A Italian Lunch Followed by a Cigar

I seldom do lunch during a work week, so it’s a rare occasion when I’m out to lunch two days in a row. A simple Italian lunch today: Kingfish crudo with citrus dressing and pink grapefruit Pasta in a creamy cheese sauce Tuna steak - very Sicilian Tiramisu Simple food, but full of...

    Chacom Pipes - Your Experience

Back in the day a lot of pipes turned and made in France were imported into England to be finished and be blinged up with silver fittings. Then hallmarked and stamped “Made in England/London” and sold as such. Seems like the tradition continues, albeit in a less blatant fashion.

    Chacom Pipes - Your Experience

The Brulor and Ropp pipes (from re-discovered cache of stummels) come from an era when smaller pipes (Group 3-4) were the vogue. I have a lot of old pipes and keep thinner pipe cleaners (eg Falcon) on hand I have a few with bone tenons which will only pass the very thin coloured hobby cleaners

    Are Windcaps Over?

Post #1 of the “Show Off Your Barlings” thread was @sablebrush52 ‘s bent motor dome. That sent me down the long slippery slope of old Britwoods 😏 Best of luck in your quest

    Chacom Pipes - Your Experience

You should keep an open mind - French pipes tend to be undervalued, especially in the estate market. The French pioneered the use of bria. Most of the classical “English” shapes in fact originated in France. Be that as it may - you’ve made up your mind. So ‘nuff said Enjoy your new pipe. puffy
