    First Impression: Haddo's Delight

It is a great tobacco blend. Smoking it now.

    GL Pease Haddo's Delight

It is for sure. I'm smoking it now in a Nording Signature.

    Rose of Latakia

I thought MB Vintage Syrian was no more.

    Epiphany

    edwinbaz: Thanks for the recommendations!

    Epiphany

I now quite enjoy C&D Epiphany, a mix of Va/burleys/latakia/perique. All together they add up to a flavorful, full-bodied smoke. I like it in the morning, but anytime really. Epiphany is said to be similar to (Philip Morris) Revelation, which was Einstein's pick for a smoke. He had good taste. I...

    Rose of Latakia

Yes, it's a McClelland, so good luck in finding it. But I had to say something. A few months ago my local tobacconist handed me the tin, dated 2007. It had been on the shelf a long time, but weirdly I paid it no mind. I only opened it up two weeks ago. It is the best latakia blend I have ever...

    Dunhill Aperitif, a Quick Review

I love The Aperitif. I was told it was a milder form of 965, which I love. But I find TA sufficiently different (I'm not sure why) and not so mild (good!) to see them separately. I like both. I hope they are available for some time to come.

    GL Pease Haddo's Delight

I had my first experience with Pease Haddo's Delight, which is quite a melange: VAs/burley/Green River black cavendish/perique. I can't pick out individual flavors, but the sum is sublime, and that's good enough for me. Highly recommended!

Bob Savage of Old Dominion Pipe Co. on Radio Show of May 29, 2018

I got my Shenandoah cob yesterday -- quick delivery. It is beautifully made! Thanks, Kevin and Brian for the lead.

    GL Pease Embarcadero

Interesting to have such a blend without latakia. Very earthy. I do get some nic hit, so I have to take care.

    Tobacco Jar with Clay Humidifier

Update: Last week, after soaking the clay, I placed into the jar a half-ounce of Sutliff 150 Mark Twain. Its moisture level was about right. Today it is far wetter, too wet! So it was (re)humidified by a jar that wasn't supposed to do that. Go figure.

    GL Pease Embarcadero

Acquired by chance, I am really enjoying this Virginia/Izmir blend. Very interesting!

    Tobacco Jar with Clay Humidifier

Brian Levine helped me out. He told me to remove the clay disc and submerge it in distilled water overnight. Done. He also said the jar is not for long-term storage or for rehumidifying. It for more or less the week's supply of tobacco. It has no seal per se. What keeps it tight is the weight...

    Deeming Regs

Brian recently said a court struck down the FDA's reg regarding the labeling of tobacconists as manufacturers. He's jumped the gun, I'm afraid. What the court did was tell the FDA its legal grounds for that reg were weak and that it must come up with other grounds. Alas, it ain't over yet...

Excellent! I ordered a pipe because of it.

    Tobacco Jar with Clay Humidifier

I've come into possession of my late dad's tobacco jar (with at least 40-year-old Captain Black inside!). Inside the lid is a huge and thick clay disk. Do I soak it in water? Distilled water? It doesn't seem super-absorbent, though it does eventually soak it up. Info appreciated. Sheldon

    Presbyterian Mixture

I too find Presby on the mild side, but still quite tasty. That's why I give a slight edge to Wild Atlantic. But then I like Morley's Best too.
