It's Friday.. This little fixed blade is forged from Alabama Damascus w/ walnut scales. Especially liked the handmade, folksy look of its sheath. The maker was from NC I believe, Iron Roots Cutlery. Seems he's been inconsistent with his offerings over the years, but this one has been a constant...

I considered buying one of those for my dad, who's an avid hunter. When it comes to folders he's more of a traditional guy though. I'll usually gift him a new Case every couple years.

Maxace Peregrine. I've got a Peregrine II on its way to me. Must say I'm impressed by the product some Chinese companies are putting out these days. Blindfolded, I would swear this knife is a Chris Reeve product. It just has that "feel".

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

Strange morning- somehow I've wound up on the deserted patio of a long closed Mexican restaurant. But hey, it's shady, and --- Scratch that. I was just asked to leave lol. Anyway, Steamworks in the Scarlatta bent egg (5 crown).

Another morning, another bladed tool. I keep reaching for the Protech Rockeye. Les George can really design a knife. I think it's the thrill of having 3V in my pocket that does it for me.

In the pocket today is Old Faithful- a Benchmade 761(Monolock) in M390. First Production run #40/1000. I've had this one for going on 8 years and it has taken everything I've thrown its way. No customization other than a low key ano job around 2017. Shame this model was discontinued. It has...

Ok- regrettably it's Monday, so here's my work blades. I've found a simple setup of a chefs knife (gyuto in this case), a paring knife, and shears will easily take care of 95% of kitchen work. If you're a baker, add a good serrated bread knife. Anyway.. -Meglio gyuto in Magnacut/Micarta scales...
