    Will Syrian Latakia Return?

    Not a chance in hell.

I wasn’t aware, sweet! Of course I’ll watch and root for Usyk again.

I love Giger as well, and haven't even yet visited the Giger museum and I live in Switzerland!

    Cob>Briar

I was in a pipe shop in Greece years ago and examining some Falcons. The owner said to me “If you buy it you’ll either throw it away or only smoke Falcons from now on”. I didn’t get to know because I didn’t buy it, I just don’t like the aesthetics of Falcons but that’s just personal. On topic...

    Impressed With HH Latakia Flake

It’s good and fairly mild, it’s balanced having Latakia be a key player but allowing room for the other tobaccos to come through. You can try Old Ironsides from Dan Tobacco for a Lat bomb flake, or avoid it now you know it’s in the same vein but a lot heavier.

    Seconds. What exactly are they?

I think you’re both correct in a way. Seconds don’t need to have shitty drilling or unpleasant grain, but they may do. I’d imagine there is a threshold to what “shitty drilling” means, if it’s just a bit off and not compromising the smoking or structural integrity of the pipe then it could be a...

    Picking on Brits a Bit

Yeah I agree that many microbreweries seem to not get it, they seem to think that making something that's 1 part hops to 0.5 part beer is some sort of "old world" or edgy brewing. I have a Moretti in the fridge right now and wondering if I should crack it open... It's a lager but has some body...

    Picking on Brits a Bit

A nice light, icy cold lager in a hot day is pure pleasure - even something like Corona or Coors or Budweiser - not everything needs to be a full meal in a glass like Guinness (which is amazing for me, by the way!). But what if you can get both the buzz and the taste?

    Picking on Brits a Bit

London Porter and Tetley's Bitter are great! Also, wanted to support my former home (the UK) from naysayers which got me tired for years: ALE is not "warm beer", it makes more sense and tastes better drank at slightly chilled temperatures. Same goes for stouts and Weisbier. Lagers on the other...

Is Gawith the Only Blending House Making Dark Fired Virginia Blends?

I don't remember their components but I do know the taste of these blends. I'd say: Dark Bird's Eye and 1792 Flake (and Lakeland Dark) use Dark Fired Kentucky the other's don't as far I could taste. For me the typical taste of these Dark Fired Virginias is found in the brown ropes (except...

    Picking on Brits a Bit

Yeah, codgers may get away with it. For some reason it's the older folks who seem to try these things. I don't want to be pulled up and embarrassed because I wanted to avoid paying a trivial amount.

    Picking on Brits a Bit

Yes, in several places in Europe you have to pay for the bag, or use a reusable bag. Plus, of course, nobody packs your items. Do you have self-checkout in the US? Or even better like in Switzerland: you pick up a scanner at the door of the supermarket and then scan (and bag) your items, then...

    Picking on Brits a Bit

"Ows it 'angin'" while strongly grabbing one's crotch is very Cockney in my experience :) And "oroit luv?" (or generally pulling the last syllable to make everything sound like a question) is very Brum. I spent many years in Buhhhhhmighm, also knew some people from Dood-la-Y in the Black Count-rah,

    Picking on Brits a Bit

Gem of a thread but I don't have time to look through it all now. I lived in the UK for 12 years, ~8 of them in shared student accommodation. Most Brits would soap the dishes and then wipe them with a towel and put back in the cupboard. That's disgusting. One guy used to have conversations...

    Hello From Brazil!

No worries, I'd love to be able to buy and try some but it seems finding online shops selling it in Brazil is quite hard, would you have any recommendations?

    Damned Commies Complaining About Turkey.

Can we maintain some quality on this forum? Edit: I understand it's meant to be funny, but can find that all around the web already. On topic, my father in law is the only person I know who makes turkey a worthwhile meal, and he's not American and neither am I. His trick seems to be stuffing...
