    What's For Dinner?

Busted out the tagine for the evening’s meal. Details/photos to follow.

Amber Stems Could Be So Much Better.

Amber will never fail. It’s the color of my energy.

**CHALLENGE** Building a cellar of quality bulk tobaccos for $250.

Could do a similar move with MB and the HH bulks.

**CHALLENGE** Building a cellar of quality bulk tobaccos for $250.

No bulk-focused cellar would be complete without Sutliff’s Frosty Mint.

    Friday Night Stoving Session

Don’t hold your breath! I’ve never been one to go off the deep end. I’ve seen reviewers that average 20-30 flavors in a single bowl and claim to get vegetation and woody flavors from both the VA and the orientals. How someone has a palate good enough to differentiate where the vegetation is...

    Friday Night Stoving Session

I don’t mean bias that favors Virginias for stoving, I mean bias towards VA in general. Most of what I’ve seen is folks who tend to smoke VA’s looking for the quick route to an aged bowl. Fair play. But I don’t see a ton of people stoving anything else, so I’m reluctant to buy into the...

    Friday Night Stoving Session

So a leaf would have to have zero sugar content to not benefit from this process? I don’t look into it that much - do Burley and Latakia have zero sugar content? Maybe my palate is just shot, but the idea that this process has ruined tobacco is kinda out there if you ask me. To each his own...

    Friday Night Stoving Session

How many blends besides VA’s have you done? I’ve had immediate improvement in SPC PP SR, BLB, Margate, and Latakia Rolls. I can comment on Eight State Burley in a few weeks as well as BMP, but in my experience every blend I’ve stoved has improved.

How To Home Stove Tobacco - Informational Only

I’m about to load some up, myself. I’ve got a chamber vac and I’m about to pull one hell of a vacuum on them and see what happens. Just trying to figure out what I’m gonna stove. Might throw caution to the wind and do a pound of ODF.

How To Home Stove Tobacco - Informational Only

I’ll give it a whirl tonight and let you know. I routinely vacuum seal tobacco for the cellar; both in the regular bags and in Mylar.

    Friday Night Stoving Session

Check out this thread. For me, it seems to intensify flavors while ironing out any rough edges. I’ve yet to not like the results, with the exception of one batch that I added way too much liquor into the jar before stoving it...

**CHALLENGE** Building a cellar of quality bulk tobaccos for $250.

Question for you, then, @JRW11b and I suppose everyone else, for that matter. Are we considering “bulk” to be tobacco that comes in a bag vs. in a tin. Because if so…

**CHALLENGE** Building a cellar of quality bulk tobaccos for $250.

I figured since he was relatively new around here and exploring new tobaccos he might be considering doing this.

**CHALLENGE** Building a cellar of quality bulk tobaccos for $250.

I’d take a different approach if capped at $250. I’d probably buy a smattering of 1oz samples with the $50 and then use the $200 to stock up on my favorites. Taste is too subjective to rely on the opinions of others.

    Friday Night Stoving Session

As much as I love BMP, I’ve actually never stoved any so I’m kinda curious about that one. I have a feeling that by the time two weeks passes, though, I’m gonna be the most excited about trying the BS Flake.
