Capstan Blue 2019, bowl ten in the micro-speckled meer. Bit of detritus has been making its way around the filter, not good, hope it’s just a fluke. Parting with it would be annoying, but if a filtered pipe isn’t filtering, it has little point in my collection, even with its interesting qualities.- Kingsley

Bowl eight in the calabash meer, Capstan Blue 2019. I had preloaded the bowl on New Years Eve and hadn’t gotten around to it until now. It’s not bad, but I don’t think I really enjoy my tobacco dried out as much as others might, feels like it’s missing something.- Kingsley

Capstan Blue 2019 in the Acorn meer, 8th bowl. This pipe favors Capstan Blue in a major way, which I never would have expected. Great news, as I had lost interest in it for quite some time. The retrohale is divine.- Kingsley

Rice.
A personal favourite is Koda Farm’s Sho-Chiku-Bai Superior Short Grain Sweet Rice. It’s a glutinous rice, it’s not actually sweet (at least, sweet doesn’t come to mind when eating it). The consistency and flavor is gorgeous to say the least. I have not found an application where it has not blown...- Kingsley

On a lunt with bowl seven out of the calabash meer, Hal O’ The Wynd 2009, very, very good, seems to prefer a tighter tapered bowl. Love how creamy this stuff gets as the pepperiness fades. The pipe is far pinker than I can capture, (my favourite time in a meer’s coloring journey), but I don’t...- Kingsley

The micro-speckled acorn meer on its seventh bowl, C&D House Reserve from Fall 2021. Waiting for a furnace repair guy to come along, we’ve been breathing in soot for god knows how long, so carbon monoxide is a worry, checked some of the fan filters and they were blackened. Might not look like much to most, but to me it was a true act of kindness, as I had been looking for a replacement or analogue to my very first pipe, a shabby old Dr. Grabow with a crack down the shank... -
Rubbing Out Flakes.
I don’t really desiccate my flakes too often; I usually find a comfortable, varying mixture closer to masses of oily broken flake with a touch of thinned out leaf to keep the party going.- Kingsley
