    Good Luck Bad Luck

Wise King Solomon called his mages together and asked them to create a ring with magic powers. It would remind him to not get carried away when he was too happy and not get too down when he was filled with sorrow. They made him a ring with this inscribed on it: This Too Shall Pass.

Any tobacconists within 1.5 hours of Nevada City Ca?

Beware that the smoking lounge in the Briar Patch on Fair Oaks is a member only thing. You can smoke in the store, but you cannot just go in to the lounge area. I recommend Tobacco Road on Marconi and Fulton. Zee (the owner) is great and he has a few couches and chairs setup for smokers...

    Is it luck, or fate?

I Like the Briar Patch, but I would recommend Tobacco Road. Less uptight and friendlier. Also, we have a local pipe club that meets twice a month. Third Thursday and last Sunday. I hope to see you.

Wonderful Experience with a Fellow Pipe Smoker

I am going to have a taste test next meeting. I am assuming it is some kind of Pease blend.

Wonderful Experience with a Fellow Pipe Smoker

Over the weekend I received an email from a pipe smoker who found me at the blog of my local pipe smoking club here in Sacramento. He had received an 8oz tin of Haddo's Delight, but even though the package said Haddo's Delight what was inside was anything but. Inside was a heavy latakia which...

    Coolest Meer Ever

Well, I don't know if I recognize this from the D&D world, but it sure looks like HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu.

    San Francisco or Sacramento Area

I go to almost all of the Sacramento meeting. Great group. I know of a group that meets in Marin County called The Golden Gate Pipe Club. They meet at Telfords.

    The Briar Patch

There ok...a little hoitey toitey for me, if you know what I mean. If you are in Sacramento go to Tobacco Road. Much better environment. Also, secondhandsmokes on ebay is ran by the local pipe group here and he ships all over the world. Gary is a great guy. In fact pipe club meeting is in...

Stem problem on a new pipe

So I bought my first churchwarden (Savinelli) at the LV pipe show and LOVE it....but now I have a problem. The tenon of the stem is not the same length of the mortise so there is a 1/6" gap from the end of the stem to where it meets inside of the pipe. I get 20 minutes of wonderful smoking and...

    What's the skinny on stems?

So, there's lucite, vulcunite, horn, cumberland, acrylic...and I'm sure many more. What are your opinions on the different materials? Allergies? Maintenance?

    Questions from a newbie

As a recently started pipe smoker (6months or so) I would recommend going with a briar pipe. It just feels right. As for tobacco. I asked the tobacconist what was his best selling blend. It turned out very well for me.

    Favorite Writers, Books, Subjects.

The book that most changed my life was Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I don't agree with her view of religion, but her understanding of men's desires is unparalleled. It is a long read, but worth it. Other than that its scifi/fantasy all the way. Terry Prachett, Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind...

I lost it a while ago, but does anyone have a link to a comprehensive website with all of the marks pipe makers use? Dots, triangles, etc...
