    Success With Pipe Mud!

Agreed that the QC could have been better for sure. But my dozen other Petes are solid smokers so I'm not really complaining. There was probably more like 3/16" of space under the draft hole of which I didn't quite fill completely, still leaving 1.125" of chamber to fill. I bought this pipe for...

    Success With Pipe Mud!

Good looking out but I'm a fan of Peterson and it smokes great now.

    Success With Pipe Mud!

Live and learn. When the smoke becomes very thin towards the end of the bowl after a few attempts at lighting, I know it's about time to dump it out. I hope you didn't lose too many nice pipes.

I'm glad you sorted out your technique. What lighter do you use?

    Success With Pipe Mud!

And you attribute the cracks to having smoked the pipes to the bottom? Did they burn through as well?

    Success With Pipe Mud!

Haha! And it's a small bowl to begin with. I bought it for quick smokes of stout blends and, well, I don't have much choice in the matter now. Still, after my modding with mud, it's a fine pipe.

    Success With Pipe Mud!

Thank you. This one has the worst drilling of the eight bent Petersons I own. But issue seems to be fixed!

    Success With Pipe Mud!

I recently purchased this lovely Peterson System Deluxe 12.5 and was surprised and disappointed in how much it gurgled on its inaugural smoke with a bowl of Gawith Hoggarth Dark Birds Eye. After struggling through the bowl and dumping out the ash I noticed a fair amount of wet dottle still left...

    Tobacco Log Book

I use my Instagram feed as a way to keep a visual log of the bowls I smoke, making note of the blend and pipe each time. When the combination is especially great I tag the image, thereby keeping a running list of those sublime smokes that I can refer back to. This also serves as a creative...

    Any Updates On Gawith Tobaccos?

As mentioned above, Boswell's and Ken Byron have some blends in stock. I purchased some GH from each recently but in bulk. Just enjoyed my first bowl of Coniston Cut Plug today.

Gawith Hoggarth Coniston Cut Plug in a Peterson Donegal Rocky 15. First time trying this top quality blend. @matches860 (RIP) likened it's flavor to the scent of incense. He was spot on. The GH Lakeland essence is present but not overly done. Very enjoyable as a change of pace.
