Question on Potentially Sanding Down a Briar Chamber

At the very least I'm now reassured that there's nothing to worry about. Quite a few interesting takes to take in. I should have mentioned all of my mentiomed pipes have had at least 10-20 bowls at the time of writing. Just new pipes I'm either in the process of breaking in or recently have...

Question on Potentially Sanding Down a Briar Chamber

It's pure briar that was still left in. for instance, a Nording I have has grooves on the inside reminiscent of the drill bit. Another is a Rattray that oddly has vertical streaks going up the sides of the chamber. At first I thought it was cake build up, at least on the part of the Rattray, but...

Question on Potentially Sanding Down a Briar Chamber

I have a few pipes I've bought recently that don't have the smoothest chambers. Would sanding down key areas on these pipes cause any issues that might lead to adverse effects like a burnout? And if I can sand it down, what grit would be recommended? Not the worst problem in the universe...

    Anyone Play Video Games?

Playing Elden Ring a while back had me feeling similarly. Sure I thought the world was beautiful, and it was nice exploring caves and what not, but I suppose what I felt otherwise was the "lifelessness" of the world. It felt largely less engaging than the souls games (sekiro included). Time...

    Progressing Through the Smoke

I generally find the opposite to be true. I get the sweetest flavours on initial light up, and then a progressive decrease in flavours until I finish. I blame it on the ash mostly, as a quick dumping of it will usually make it taste better instantly.

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

Galadriel is too obsessed with commiting orcish genocide. Her character is essentially the same from the the first fifteen minutes onward, but with more reasons why she hates orcs. I was surprised when it first clicked in my head that she's the same elf from both LOTR and the Hobbit. How do...

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

I don't think anything pertaining to this story as really woke, but the king of numenor situation had me scratching my head aswell haha. Most of the relationships in this story seem to be interracial from our own terms. Nothing wrong with that, but I just find it funny how much it happens in...

How Whacky is This: Anti Cheating Exam Hats?

You should give a pair of those to jim, though it wouldn't stop him.

Not a big fan of the saw cleaver, I always choose the hunter axe each playthrough no matter what stats I choose, but the burial blade is always fun. Massive, and well worth the fight to get it.

    Anyone Play Video Games?

What's your preffered build? Strength with an amgydala arm in one hand and a cannon in the other? Or maybe arcane, carrying a huge wheel and shooting tentacles out of your hand?

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

Oh that's understandable. On your point, I was reminded of the X-men when you talked about fear of powers. Many Shows go into this type of argument, and I've even seen an anime which waded into the matter of psycopathic behavior with an analogy to psycic powers and those in the position, and...

What Are You Smoking, October 2022?

Smoking some Sutliff Buttered Rum in this Nording Devil Anse I just got in yesterday. The Buttered Rum tastes just about as good as I imagined: all the butter, hold the rum. Who needs a stick of butter when you can just smoke this.

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

I feel like the events of the show could be counted on one's fingers. Something like this happens then that happens, because largely in the hour long episodes it's just character narrative and set ups to what's to come 5 years and 5 seasons from now, probably. Sure they're not going to tell you...

The low Cost of Living High on the hog

Aint that the truth. Sometimes I feel like i'm growing old of my favored blends, but I keep making myself remember that it feels samey because I smoke them so often. And I keep making myself remember this, since I know I'd be sorely missing without my pipe.

Who is Your Current Favorite Writer?

Living? None, honestly. Dead would be George Eliot.

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

I feel the exact same way about Game of Thrones in general. Well maybe, because I don't know what about it depresses you haha. I tried reading the books ten years ago, but it was just too much. Literally just Murphy's Law set in a fantasy setting. After a certain point it just got to be too...

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

This thread made me go ahead and finally watch it. I never took up Wheel of Time, but I've been enjoying this. Not as good as the movies, but it's fine a time. I don't know what people are going on about. I'm of the opinion set characters should stay to their own ethnicity: 007 should stay...

    Drying Your Tobacco

I've been moving towards this habit recently. Still trying to figure out a good time to let it sit in the chamber, a day being a tad too much for my own impatience, but a lot better than my usual habit of letting everything air dry in a small bowl.

    Hot Water Flush vs. Alcohol

I stick to water personally. Just distilled water, usually nothing more. I take a small spray bottle and a single squirt is all I use if I feel a chamber is starting to build too much carbon. Wipe it down and it's fine to go. Though I use this method sparingly, only if I notice more cake build...

    Anyone Play Video Games?

As far as Unity goes, my first thought was to disagree with you. But, like you said, you are right on your take on the multiplayer and single player thoughts. Its protagonist was definitely lacking and felt generic. I'm definitely partial to Unity, as I really enjoyed the French Revolution...
