***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

Hello my somewhat anonymous online friends. C&D Redburn in a Peterson. The smokes have been few and far between these days.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

Indeed. Maybe Warren will hang out with his shillalegh, or however you spell it.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

C&D Briar Fox in a Moretti. Here are some pictures of my son’s place. He busted through the roof with a hammer, busted through the plywood in the roof with a hammer and baseball bat, and cut away the shingles with a chefs knife. How’s that for a fight or flight response. The place has been...

    Favorite Codger Blend

I’ve only tried Sir Walter Raleigh regular and Aromatic, Half and Half, Granger, and Mixture 79. I really like the weirdness that is Mixture 79. I’d like to try some others but I’m not willing to commit to a tub. I’m not a snob but what I’ve tried so far just doesn’t taste right to me. Kind of...

Acrylic Stems vs Vulcanite Stems: A Comparison

You’ll probably end up with both at some point. Then you might have a preference. Then that preference might change. For me vulcanite is fussy and I deal with enough fussy at work. I like Cosmic’s idea of wiping with a jewelry cloth. Sounds much easier than the olive oil I use.

C&D Burley Flake #3 in Sav Tre 321. Pines are down, now about this leaner, beyond my skills.

    Trying Out an English Blend.

Presbyterian was the first blend with Latakia that I tried and I think it does have added flavorings, just a little. The tin note alone might win you over.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

C&D Kelly’s Coin in a Peterson 606. This pipe has seen nothing but VaPers and the slight ghost is kind of fun. Getting ready to cut some smallish pines and clear out the gutters. The small trees give me the heebie jeebies, it’s hard to tell where they will fall. Ropes will be used.

    English Fatigue?

So I am three years into this and still consider myself a new pipe smoker. The cravings for specific styles or blends still surprise me too. A couple weeks ago all I wanted was Maple Aromatics, for about a week. The other day I woke up and was jonesing for a straight Virginia. I went almost a...

    Pegasus: Love for One Blend

    A Szechuan Dinner (With Photos)

Manzanilla, one of the great under appreciated wines of the world. I don’t know if there is anything else like it.

C&D Pegasus in a dedicated Castello. The pipe was purchased from McCranie’s in Charlotte.

    Do Virginias Burn Hotter?

Do Virgins burn hotter? Not the old ones, the fire was never lit in the first place.

    English Fatigue?

If I had to bet on you coming back to Latakia at some point, I’d say if you really liked it, at some point you will come back to it. There are times when only Latakia will scratch the itch. Just think of the first time you opened a tin and took a whiff!

    English Fatigue?

I smoke what I want. Yes, I’ve gotten tired of Latakia and took a break from it. I also take breaks from smoking, maybe a day or a few. The mouth, throat, and sinuses tell me when it’s time. Enjoy the process!
