Estervals To Recommence Shipping to USA [5.23.21]

There might well be more going on. From the FDA web site: “Tobacco products imported or offered for import into the United States must comply with all the applicable requirements under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act). You can find more information on the Importing and...

Interesting Read About Oriental Tobacco Kind Of Current

I really am not sure how much good news there is, as the old style hand harvesting and traditional curing methods seem to be almost extinct. But that at least some of these, prized by pipe smokers, varietals are still grown on a commercial scale has to be good news of a sort. I hope.

Interesting Read About Oriental Tobacco Kind Of Current

https://tobaccoreporter.com/2021/01/01/the-oriental-express/ I thought this article got some attention closer to its publication date 1/1/2021, perhaps not here, though.

Interesting Up To Date Read On Latakia Production

Re:Cyprus, I think you might be correct. Bee Tobacco Trading of Istanbul, had, at one point so I was told, a lock on trading with the Turkish part of Cyprus. Apparently they were processing tobacco grown elsewhere in the Eastern Mediterranean in Cyprus. I had sporadically checked their web site...

You are in Charge of White Spot Pipes: Would You do Anything Differently?

That is simply a false statement. White Spot pipes are made in the same facility Dunhill makes its bespoke leather goods. Those are proudly sold at mucho dinero prices worldwide. Under the Alfred Dunhill name. White Spot Pipes continue to bear his name. These and other smoking accessories...

    Sutliff 515-RC

I smoke a lot of 515 RC 1 and 507 S mixed 50/50. Present stash came from the initial shipments, as I recall without getting up to look, 2018. I have 5100 and 5105 on hand as well, and more often than not smoke them mixed 50/50. Both are fine on their own, both are better aged, but 515 RC...

G&H Bright CR Flake. Any Fans?

That should have said Anderson Hunting Tartan. Apologies.

G&H Bright CR Flake. Any Fans?

Not to me, but 507 c is good, really good after even just a year or so ago, and it gets better from there.

G&H Bright CR Flake. Any Fans?

No, never asked, never heard, or if I’ve heard, I forgot. I will keep that question in the back of my mind. My expertise, if any, doesn’t extend to recipes. I have never been in the factory and haven’t asked any specific questions about recipes of those who are in it every day. I tried to...

G&H Bright CR Flake. Any Fans?

SP and Boswell’s sell by the ounce. Ernie at Watch City sometimes breaks the 500 g boxes down into 8 ounce portions. Mars used to sell by the ounce, and might again if the allocations get larger. Broken Scotch Cake is a very nice light Virginia, available in bulk and in tins. Some struggle to...

G&H Bright CR Flake. Any Fans?

It tends to show up in every drop and stay available longer than, say, Ennerdale and Bob’s Chocolate, but not much longer. Help is in sight, I feel sure, before the summer ends.

FDA Publishes Long-Awaited PMTA List for Deemed Tobacco Products

Guys, you can wear yourselves out searching these list and you won’t learn 5% of what is really going on. There is not one thing good that will come from this I’ll informed speculation in a public forum. See the last paragraph in the linked post.

FDA Publishes Long-Awaited PMTA List for Deemed Tobacco Products

The grandfathering list is just that, a list. The FDA still takes applications to be on it, no deadline. like in the PTMA or SE portals. A manufacture, importer or distributor can determine on their own whether their product is grandfathered or substantially equivalent. They are perfectly...

A New Castello Provides ZERO Taste... WTF!

I have had a love affair with the brand since I got my first one in 1981. That love was made flaming hot when I saw Chuck Rio’s Collection displayed at the first show I ever attended in Chattanooga TN in 1985. i have used lots of adjectives to describe Castellos in the intervening years. I...

A New Castello Provides ZERO Taste... WTF!

As @sasquatch has pointed out elsewhere on this forum, 10 year plus aged briar like Castello uses is a different animal entirely. Even if “load it up and go” works for you on most pipes, that technique will never, ever, get all out of a Castello that a new one has to offer.
