    Unexpected Present

What a thoughtful and generous gesture you did Chris. Way to go. Thinking of you oldman, and hoping for the best in your struggle. Know that there are a lot of people on this forum pulling for you. All the best.

    Aromatics And Dark Burley

I mixed about 25% Molto Dolce with 75% Warrior plug and that came out real tasty. Tamed some of the roughness of the plug but had the umph that the aro didn't have

    Time to meet Virginia

Cosmic, what are your top 5 Virginias? It has taken me quite a while to warm up to them, and each time I go back to a blend that I thought was meh, it seems to have more flavor than before. The learning curve is longer than with others. Just curious. I value your opinion. FVF is one that I...

    Cutting Plugs

With traditional plugs I use the Alaskan cutter. It makes short work of it. For the American style usually just pull apart or use a pocket knife

    Al Pascia Shipping To U.S.

I believe I purchased mine on a Friday. Don't remember time of day, but it was delivered to me on that following Monday. I was shocked

    L'Anatra Olive Wood

Anthony, that is one gorgeous pipe. Love everything about it. I bought one of their reverse-Calabash pipes. It's a great little pipe. Let us know how it smokes after you get it. If I remember correctly I received mine no longer than about three days after they shipped it.

    A One Blend Man

"I have a completely groundless and unproveable theory that being a one-blend smoker is easier if you have a very limited number of choices available". I agree with this. Also, if you are a relative newcomer like me to pipe smoking(4 years),then starting out with so many blends to choose from...

Is Dr.Bradley's Mixture a codger blend?

Thanks for the history lesson on your experience with different blends back in the "good ole days" at that time oldgeezer. It was very interesting to me. Back in the late 70s I didn't smoke a pipe but was finishing up college and worked at an HEB supermarket down in South Texas. I worked the...

Virginia Flake Hoarders: This Is It!

To me the Newminster Navy Flake is way sweeter. It has a heavier topping, honey or whatever. Cosmic put me on to that one and I enjoy it. The Sutliff I need to let age some more. I didn't enjoy it as much but I tend to gravitate towards the sweeter Virginias, and I've only had it once

    Irish Flake's New Packaging

Could be but I wonder if the change might have been because the round tins hold their seal better than the others?

What is the Oldest Tobacco Tried from a Mylar Bag?

kwilliams, yeah I ordered some of those too as a result of woodsroad's recommendation. Sure wish I had thought of that earlier. It does make for more difficult storage space-wise, depending on what you have available, but small price to pay for keeping your baccy from drying out as quickly
