I mean if a pipe of total length around 120mm smokes hotter than the usual 140-150mm.

Out of curiosity do the shorter ones smoke hotter? There is a short clear radice with lovely bird's eyes at al Pascia that caught my eye.

    Frustrated!

Now that I have learnt the basic theory after much reading here and do practice every day I found that for me and my particular style relights are an absolute blessing. I am not the person who sits and smokes for an hour without doing nothing. I do not clench nor I hold the pipe in my hand all...

I see. I am still trying to find out what is the right dryness of the tobacco. Sometimes I let it dry for longer and then it feels way too dry and I feel that I lose the original taste and it has a burnt taste.

I use the pipe tool to clean the chamber from the ashes and any retaining bad tasting tobacco at the bottom. But I also scratch the walls rather hard and remove the cake. At first I didn't do that to my new savinelli to help the cake build up and after a month the chamber remained half in diameter.

My Sienna 207 straight apple. My second purchase from my local tobacco store after I came back to the hobby. Takes 9mm filter. It has best feeling in the hand. This is a funny pipe. No matter how dirty and abused it is, it always smokes nicely with no tongue bites. It just works. My first choice...

Show Us Your Chacom Pipes! (post forum upgrade)

Smoking my chacom after lunch as we speak. Just lighted it. My first purchase after I came back to the hobby couple of months ago. A nice medium sized straight billiard. Smokes like a charm. Takes 9mm filter. Bought from my local tobacco shop.

Well I packed a tad tighter and this did the trick. Way more pleasant now. This didn't lead to more relights or higher temperature. Learning something new every day. Thank you again.

I broke my new Radice in nicely and carefully but I am still trying to get use to the wide open draw and very small button. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. It is the pipe shown above.
