    Hello from Scotland

Thanks. I sent you a private message. It's my first one on this site. Hope I did it correctly.

    Which Oxiclean To Use?

Okay. This seems to make sense. But I am unfamiliar with these products and materials that are mentioned by others. What is micromesh? Most of my stems are ugly and need work. I do not have a workshop nor a buffing wheel. And I might be lazy if there is something else to do. Like go down to the pub.

    Which Oxiclean To Use?

Sadly, this is true. Damn ignorance!

    2025 Pipe Show Dates

Does anyone happen to know of such shows taking place in Scotland? Or in the other parts of the UK?

    Less is More

For me, pipe smoking is not an addiction or habit, it is a hobby. I like having choices and variety. It is not a chore or a frustration when selecting what to smoke. FalconForever has his preference and likes the limitation. Good for him. I aimed for a minimum of 21 pipes of different shapes so...

If You Could Visit any Pipe Shop...

If indeed Marty rocked up in the DeLorean, I think I might like to have visited Charles Rattray’s pipe and tobacco shop nearby here in Perth, Scotland. But there’s no denying how fabulous that Dunhill shop must have been in its heyday!

If You Could Visit any Pipe Shop...

Like cosmicfolklore and his Briary in Homewood, I am also somewhat annoyed and surprised that no one has yet mentioned McCranie’s pipe shop in Charlotte in the Park Road shopping centre. For all the same reasons, space, selection, knowledge, friendliness, a tobacco bar, a few rocking chairs, a...

If You Could Visit any Pipe Shop...

    And whereabouts might that be?

    Seriously? Rustication Gone Awry?

Bahahahaha! I have sometimes had the same reaction and opinion to rustication that looks thoughtless and juvenile. Some do it better than others and some look downright awful. I own several of both types. But your sarcastic comments really made me laugh!

Corn Cob Pipe I did it!

Thank you very much FurCoat and Funkhouse. I have not heard of the Danish stems previously. Will have to look them up. The next time I am in the market for another cob, I will take your advice. But that may be awhile. Thanks again!

Corn Cob Pipe I did it!

This is my H&B Irvin S Cobb. Had it for 20 years. Picked it up at a brick and mortar tobacconist out on the West Rand between Roodepoort and Krugersdorp. My impression is the H&B models seem to have a better quality feel and fit & finish to them than the MMs, but that’s subjective. Also found...

Corn Cob Pipe I did it!

FurCoat, that is an impressive extensive collection! Well Done! Is there a Hirschl & Bendheim in there somewhere? I have just one, and three MMs Legend/Rob Roy. In my experience, I find the plastic orange transparent stems give an unpleasant feel and sensation on my teeth, that I don’t...

    Hello from Scotland

Thanks for the Welcome, but no, not this year’s.

    Hello from Scotland

Hello and Thanks for adding me. Been smoking a pipe since 1981. Originally from central Ohio, living and working in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, North Carolina, and now Broughty Ferry, Scotland. I like to try almost any blend, but seem to favor Dunhill London Mixture (when it was...
