Could you store tobacco in that bag for long time or does it get dry?
I've had some tobacco's in mylar bags for over a year without heat sealing them, without an appreciable loss of moisture. Plugs particularly retain moisture really well in my experience.
However, I usually only mylar bag blends that are in my current rotation, so I haven't really done the "ultra long term" storage with them. @sablebrush52 has some experience in this area and may be able to shed some light.
Metallized Mylar is an excellent choice for long term storage. Earlier this year I opened a 22 year old commercially released Mylar bag of GLP Haddo’s Delight and it was in perfect shape. Transcendent smoking.

I’ve bagged up a lot of Esoterica bags, because they’re too lightweight and they’ve held up well.

Mylar holds up better than tins in my experience. Heat sealed, the contents are good for decades. Without the heat seal, the contents will hold up for years. I’ve been smoking from several bags for the last 2+ years with no issues, such as drying out.

Trying GLP Barbary Coast for the 1st time. It somehow snuck its way into the cart when I was buying an estate Neerup at SP 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m no tobacco reviewing expert, but the tin aroma reminds me of the scent of half-and-half, or SWR. Granted, it’s been 15 years since I’ve smelled those, but that’s what comes to mind. Upon smoking, it’s a less peppery Haunted Bookshop, which I just tried for the 1st time this week. If CH is a breakfast burley, I’d call Barbary Coast a lunchtime burley.
Oh wow, it’s definitely higher in nicotine than the breakfast burleys I typically smoke, gonna have to be careful with this one 😂

Opened a tin of January 2007 GL Pease Westminster that I received through a generous Secret Santa in this years unofficial secret santa fun! The tin was bulging and hissed wonderfully when opened. Immediately smelled dark virginias, which gave way to very smoky latakia and some sourness. The smoky eventually dissipated a bit and the dark virginias became prominent. The blend was perfectly moist. The color and uniform ribbon cut reminding me of Frog Morton. It was a beautiful english smoke. Hello once again. For Christmas day I opened a 2009 tin of Limerick from Dan Tobacco. I always liked this blend, no matter old or new, but a few years and it becomes really exceptional. I smoke it right out of the tin and have a hard time preventing it from drying, but it’s worth the effort.

This has that old timey Irish plug flavoring, like Mick McQuaid or Yachtsman Plug. I love it.
