Ok, so he received and opened. Yes, it’s common courtesy to post a photo of your gift (required when I was Santa), but then what are your motivations? Kindness and generosity or public recognition? OK, maybe, like most of us, it’s a little bit of both. Either way, you did your part, nobody is thinking less of you, and you can’t control other people’s actions.

I was shamed on another board’s Secret Santa exchange into opening my gift immediately. I disagree with that policy intensely (which was an unstated directive, though the coordinator called it “obvious.” Which it is self-evidently not obvious…).

I was on my phone and felt just attaching them was easier.
Really, it’s no more time-consuming to insert photos, saves the viewer time and makes for a better presentation. But, to each his own.
I use my iPhone and it won’t let me use the photo feature. Used to, but not currently.
I’ve been having several issues with using the iPhone on this forum, but I’m reluctant to complain, considering what I pay to partake in the festivities.
Okay I broke down and opened the box, and I am blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness, thank you, Secret Santa!! And the Snoopy card made me smile!
Received some amazing blends that are brand new to me but I have certainly been wanting to try and are in my flavor wheelhouse. This includes Bankside, an older bulging tin of Westminster, and Watson Wintertime Reserve (big fan of Sherlock Holmes so this is great
). And a generous 100 gram tin of a new favorite of mine: Old Gowrie. I smoked a lot of this over the summer thoroughly enjoying it, so my stock has been replenished. Wonderful!
But that is not all, this Santa snuck in a beautiful Peterson 608 Fishtail rusticated with an army mount pipe! I have never owned a Peterson pipe and it has been a many years since I purchased a brand new pipe. So I am giddy! The pipe is right up my alley with the sandblast, weight, and bowl size, amazing!
I am humbled and excited, thank you, thank you, Secret Santa!!
