Hi Barling’s expert! I can’t read the logo because it’s faint. Judging from the tenon, does this look like a Barling’s Make family tenon-stem? Thanks folks!

Looks legit but I don't pronounce "Barling" unless I look back and @sablebrush52 nods.

My guess given the construction and faint smear of a stamp is it's legit. What else could it be?

The tenon shape looks correct. I can’t make out the bit of the stamp.

What greeneyes is referring to is a stem stamp that says “REGd” with a number under it that is located on the underside of the stem. This stamp can help date the pipe to a specific period of years during which it was manufactured.

How about a picture of the pipe and any nomenclature stamped on it?

Ok. Well I just purchased this from MBSD pipes. They’re trustworthy but I still was worried because I can’t clearly see the stem logo/markings. But here are the pics from their website. This was a pretty good deal at 300$ including shipping?

Special was a grading that indicated a superior level of wood grain. These were almost always given a lighter color finish. EXEXEL means extra extra large, so you have a large pipe with a commodious chamber headed your way. $300 is a very good deal for an EXEXEL Special.
