    WTT4: Chelsea Morning, w/ 3+years (12/13/25)

Howdy. On the hunt for a trade. Haven’t had the pleasure of this one. I have many sealed jars / tins to trade for… sun bear, aged capstan (2013-14), FVF, Cringle flakes, (21-23), windjammer, early morning pipe, CRF w/ perique (21), escudo, etc, etc, HH Virginia Flake, Maltese falcon, etc...

    The Relight debate

I find the tighter the pack, the less flavor I get. Same goes for tamping. A heavy tamp leads to a harder pack and again, less flavor. I find relights enjoyable. The Kiribi lighter I purchased feels great in the hand and sound fantastic. I also get a burst of flavor with each relight.

Experienced Pipers 20 Years+ Opinions on Definitive Blends

IMO Escudo is terribly finicky and can taste wildly different depending how tight a pack it and the pipe I smoke it in. My typical virgins pipes - stack billiard, bent or straight makes Escudo taste bland a bit bitter to me. Escudo packed “medium pressure pack” in my slightly bent apple...

Show me your pipe clearer, tamper, lighter accessory organizer…. Please : )

Hi, I’m wondering what others use for their smoking experience? I would love to see your stuff. I have this handy little pipe cleaner holder that I tuck a chech tool into. It works well enough but looking for something a bit more. I’m on the hunt for a sleek, quality organizer for my pipe...

***What Are You Smoking, November 2022?***

A Castello panel swan? I guess. It’s a Castello but not sure what shape to call this. I’m told it’s rare and have been on the hunt for another Castello is this shape. This pipe quickly became a top 3 favorite pipe. Virginias have been a dream. The 2021 CRF w/ perique has hit a new level...

    Dating Capstan Blue Flake

Hi, Any idea how to date Capstan Blue Flake using only the frontal tin art? Have some tins with the dates torn off the back. Thanks in advance for any advice!

A Ruminative Discourse Concerning Expensive Blends

Sanding the Inside of an Estate Pipe?

Many thanks for all the advice. I’m happy to report that hot water on a hand towel worked brilliantly. I’ve had a few bowls and the taste is all tobacco, no bitter at all. Thanks again!

Sanding the Inside of an Estate Pipe?

I’ve recently purchased a Castello estate pipe that’s been refurbished with the black coating on the inside of the bowl. The pipe beautiful, but has the taste of a bitter charcoal, and I’m thinking it’s the coating on the bowl which made it look nice, but taste bad. I’m considering sanding...

    Capstan & Tolkien

I enjoy the Blue quite a lot. Recently acquired a couple of the square tins from 2013. Should I dump them in a jar or keep ‘‘em as is? I’d like to continue the aging process. I hear the square tins may not hold their seal. thoughts?
