    TAD Acquisitions 2024

I'd like to see how that cuts dense European made plugs like Peterson's 3Ps. Let us know. Cheers.

    Silly Blend Question

I would concentrate less on the differences between each blend and instead get a feel for the differences between blending houses. There is usually a house style. For example C&D produced Virginia flakes are quite different vs those produced in Germany by K&K (or Kopp as it's now known), or STG...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

I could be wrong. I'm just saying I've tried most of the other Virginias on the market and I have too much baccy cellared already. I'm really hoping not to buy much more from here. But who knows...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Two new to me blends: Peter Heinrich's Golden Flake and John Aylesbury Sir John's Flake. Never tried 'em and they are among the last Virginia's I need to sample.

    Question

Capstan Original Navy Cut flakes were a staple of UK pipe smokers for many decades. Still produced (now made in Denmark) and easily obtainable from any online or most brick and mortar stores. Cheers.

What a find!! - 1942 Dunhill Sliced Rolls Sealed Tin

If you open it just remember: keep your eyes shut!

    STG: Sales Flat, Profits Down

Peterson (Dunhill), Orlik, Lane, Stokkebye, Escudo, Davidoff, WO Larsen, Stanwell, Erinmore and a bunch of others. Interesting that the pipe tobacco business does not even rate a mention in the news article. I know it's a cigar publication but also pipe baccy is a tiny business. For the sake of...

What a find!! - 1942 Dunhill Sliced Rolls Sealed Tin

I agree with Sablebrush. The baccy inside tins this old can be past their prime. Not saying it won't be enjoyable and a great sharing experience. Just that what you get from it may be an echo of what it once was.

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Ah never mind the below. I see you traded with a friend in Europe. Does Pfeifen Huber ship to the US? I've been intrigued by that one but never tried to order it. Cheers.

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

I love that Mac Baren presentation: the flat tin, the thick gold foil paper, the narrow cut flakes. My only problem with it is I don't smoke Kentuckys or Burleys. Ha ha!

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Wow look at how dark it has become. Amazing. And I don't even like EMP. Ha!

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Beautiful I have one from 2009 and five others from 2010. Tempted to open one soon. Cheers.

    Tinbids Experiences?

Yes for buyers in Asia you are almost always shipping to a US address, usually in California. These tend to be freight forwarders. A freight forwarder fills a container with US goods and ships it on to China, Hong Kong or wherever. When I have sold Dunhill pipes on Ebay sometimes the address for...

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Any tin is welcome as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes I just want to see what the baccy looks like if I've never ordered it before, rare or common. It's all good.

    Anyone notice?(C&D content)

So anyone sampled the Turkish and have a good sense of the difference in flavor, if any? Perhaps it is an improvement. Of course this will be entirely subjective.
