Chronic wet smoker
I use the chips and Ive never had wet dottle...none. Get the tobacco off the floor of the chamber and it stays dry. I reuse the chips until they get lost.- Sigmund

Chronic wet smoker
Try some meer chips or keystones. In the least it will keep the tobacco off the chamber floor and dry. If the tobacco is still wet you know its not from you as a source.- Sigmund

Keystones, meer chips and also drying your tobacco a bit more. Those things will help. Reguardless, the bottom part usually is not as nice as the upper portions of the bowl for me but they are rarely terrible.
