    That Old School Aroma

60's-70's in our neck of the woods would have been Prince Albert. You could pipe it or roll it. My grandfather did both.

    How Fragile are Pipes?

I would hazard to guess that for every pipe that is broken in a fall, a thousand cell phones fair much worst. And most of the phones are in a "protective case"... Its all in the perspective.

Smoking Filter Pipes Without a Filter - why the adapters ?

Most of the time I don't use a filter. But I have had tobacco make its way to the bit.

How to Best use my Pipe Budget?

I found I had to spend a lot of money to do better than my cobs. In fact after ten years, I don't know that I have. I find some of my other pipes more visually appealing, but I don't know that they smoke better. I'm saying don't over think it, you are gonna have several favorites over time...

    How Cold is "Too Cold?"

I bring wood up to the house from the barn about every other day in winter. Using the bucket on the tractor. While loading the bucket I will often sneak in a bowl. The barn keeps most of the wind out. I stash a MM hardwood a lighter and a pouch of something in a plastic ammo box down there...

Latakia Burnout - How Long does it Last?

I'm still waiting to enjoy it the first time... I did leave a jar of fox and hound sit for four or five years. It has helped. I think it was at least five or six years old when I got it. Every once in a blue moon I'll sample a bowl, still waiting.

Finally Bought A Cob. Is This Normal?

It will pass with time. But you might get in big trouble if you start calling your lady Olive Oyl, unless that is her name...

    Tobacco--How Much Do You Carry?

Unless I'm camping or fishing, mine never leaves the place. I will usually take enough to pack two pipes to the barn with me.

Your biggest Surprise in Pipe Smoking?

After reading all the rave reviews everywhere I would look. A few years ago I went way out of my way to pick up a can of the frog. I think that was about 2014. Just last week I happened upon the nearly full can. I can just now after all these years, almost open it without gagging from the...

    Dr. Grabow Quality

My newest ones are a couple of years old. I had a couple of my dad's from the 70's and I have had no issues with any of them. I'm sure a feller can buy much nicer pipes, but I'm not sure I would say "better". All mine work very well for their intended purpose.

    Tobacco Taste !

I taste much more when I smoke my meer. It was such a difference that I returned to a couple of blends I had tried in the past just to see what they "really" tasted like.

    Breaking In

I find "breaking-in" a pipe to be as much about me getting use to the pipe as it does the pipe getting used.
