Mason jar seals
You are not keeping tobacco from going bad or rancid like vegetables. For me masons are just convenient glass storage jars that take a slight vacuum. I use them only for that. Not to keep it from spoiling.- proteus

Is Cavendish Tobacco Usually Damp?
Id say its probably overly humidified. Let it stand open for a week. Those aromatics are likely cased and have PG so that might not make a difference. Pack looser. Try that.- proteus

Specifically for your batch its possible its a bad tin. SP.com will make it right. As for generally Cavendish can be unflavored untopped uncased or cased or topped or flavored. Its a process tobacco goes through and can be virginia Cavendish, burley Cavendish or another tobacco. So depending...- proteus

I do a 8oz yellow bucket per blend sometimes up to a pound. Makes it easier on the blend in terms of parts. For which ratios I keep to two to four elements max i can do 2 and 4 oz of each to make up the blend in half 3/4 or pound blends. I make the whole order worthwhile too. So a couple pounds...- proteus

Dry tobacco equal dry mouth?
Ive yet to see very dry unsmokeable tobacco. What ive seen people refer to dry is actually very smokeable. And what people ive seen saying ok tobacco is actually wet. Dry mouth wouldnt equate much to the tobacco. More so about current levels of hydration in the body.- proteus

Am i smoking too hot, if smoke comes out of the chamber?
If you have a good pack and the pipe has good air flow air can enter from the stem and flow out from the chamber causing smoke to form. To me its a sign of a good pack and a great pipe. It shouldn't continue on its own for very long.- proteus

Why Do Folks Say to Sip While You Smoke?
I don't specifically drink anything with pipes. Messes with the flavor. I drink after. If you mean sipping the pipe...im not so sure. After some 35 40 years just breathing with a pipe gets smoke in and out. Unless Im lighting up.- proteus

The smoke isnt an indicator of anything really. Some tobacco generates more smoke than others. Draw should be effortless so pack light and tamp ash lightly as you smoke it down. What about half-smoked bowls?
Reight it and enjoy. Toss some ash out which I do. Leave just a bit of ash and relight. I belive the ash attracts moisture which keeps tobacco humidified while holding for a bit of time. Relighting through that is harder sometimes.- proteus

Low Nicotine pipe tobacco
I would look at reviews for Straight virginia and aromatics. They are generally lower nic than say burley or burley blends, periques and latakia.- proteus
