    Humidor? is that what you call those wood lid glass bowls in some pipe racks? They have a moisture disk under the lid. I know this thread is about Long Term storage; for the Short term, for just the stuff i'm smoking this week, isn't it proper to put it in one of those? Thanks

    wow; i wish i knew all i need to know..now. i have to learn so i can fix my first and only meer. On yours, does the stem tenon just push right into the meerschaum shank? is there any sort of teflon piece or something in there to mate up with the stem? i was unclear to me as i've only skimmed...

    Hey fellas; what sort of band material is out there that would shrink in order to close the gaps on my mortise glue job? it's a meerschaum shank and i'd like to reuse the threads in there...thus the need for a tight band. thanks!

    What about one that's more than a hole? what if a 1/2" piece of material is missing? vulcanized rubber is still rubber, yeah? could i form the bit up with some of the liquid rubber i've seen somewhere? jb weld? what? thanks

    i'm reading how these pipes are coated with bees wax and the smoker can periodically apply some, for shine mostly i think.....would a goodly amount melted down into the crack do any good at all?
