Understanding Moisture
Air humidity will definitely have an effect on the smoke. Smoking a briar outside on a very humid day, especially if it's chilly out, often results in gurgling. For that reason, I prefer a cob in those conditions.- Lumbridge

Corn Cobs - what’s the skinny?
Never had any gurgle with a cob. When I'm smoking on a cold, wet day, I default to a cob because they never gurgle for me like a briar might. Has it been modified, bottom of the chamber filled in with pipe mud or anything like that?- Lumbridge

Burley Blend (No-name yet)
I tried making my own aromatic using a stoved VA base and a sauce very similar to this - bourbon, real vanilla extract, and a touch of white sugar. Result was pretty good. I might experiment and try stoving it after adding the sauce rather than before.- Lumbridge

Ends of the Bowls Getting Acrid
Sounds like moisture and other gunk collecting in the bottom. The dottle at the bottom is unsmoked tobacco that soaks all this other crap up, and yeah, it can taste pretty gross sometimes. If it tastes bad, I toss it. The other option which I frequently recommend, similar to the idea of using...- Lumbridge

Amphora Pouches in Canada
Not sure about Canada market Amphora pouches in particular, but not all pouches have a seal, none of them are totally airtight. Most plastic pouches I've encountered don't have a seal, but some of the foil/mylar type pouches do have an adhesive seal. Would not trust it for long term storage...- Lumbridge
