Are Windcaps Over?
I wish I could find my source, but I read that windcaps were required in Germany at one time to prevent forest fires. Many old school german pipes (porcelain, tassels, etc.) have them.- justscience

Favorite Holiday Blends?
New mown hay (alfalfa?) has a sweet coumarin (tonquin) smell that's found in a few SG blends such as Sam's Flake and 1792. A similar smell is sweet woodruff and is in other blends, although it may be a forbidden flavoring now. I just use a tonka bean in my storage jar if I want hay. I like the...- justscience

Curious why maple blends are associated with autumn. Maple syrup is made in early spring and that's when I smoke them. I've always had to use charcoal filters when smoking C&D blends due to an allergic reaction to their perique they like to use. Charcoal also seems to reduce nicotine, which is fine with me. Tinbids Experiences?
I've sold on it for prices that made me blush. The administrative fees on Tinbids are far less than our Texan friend and much higher prices are obtained on certain brands. Granted, he does package and mail, but then, so do you when you send to him. I kind of miss eBay, but their fees plus paypal...- justscience

I Hated Half & Half—Because of the Burley?
Can't stand H&H either, it's the topping. Best easy to find codger blends in pouches here (Michigan) are Sir Walter Raleigh plain and aromatic, I enjoy both.- justscience
