Filling a Pipe - Rubbed Out and Then Rolled in the Palm of the Hand

I've been rubbing out "things" in the palm of my hand for many years, but never tried tobacco. I'll have to give it a try!

***What Are You Smoking, September 2021?***

Enjoying some 3 year old Fillmore while beginning this book, which I can tell I’m going to love. Also, grateful for our cabin in the Sierras having survived.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2021?***

Thanks for the kind thoughts. So far, so good for our cabin ( in Kyburz) as the fire looks unfortunately to be heading up towards south lake Tahoe. But winds could shift and there are still plenty of spot fires to be worried about. Sadly, I think this is going to be a yearly experience from now on.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2021?***

Smoking some delicious Persian slipper in a chunky Peterson estate while doom scrolling and hoping against hope that our cabin in the Sierras doesn’t go up in flames. I’ve enjoyed many smokes up there on the deck over looking the American River.

I didn’t see that brand when I was there but I’ll be on the lookout for it when I visit next.

    Danish Pipe Shop Tobacco Recommendations?

Hi all, I’m in Copenhagen for the next couple of days, and figured I’d post a visit to this store to buy some tobacco that I can’t find easily in the states: I bought these two blends but was wondering if there are any house blends in the Virginia, vaper or light aromatic range that folks have...

Show Off Your Vauen Pipes Here!

I’m really enjoying the Vauen that my wife brought me back from Germany. I’ve been using it so far with Va’s with the 9mm charcoal filters and fine the draw just fine and the taste seemingly unaffected.

Smoking an Entire Tin as a Learning Process

I agree with you here—I didn’t smoke it exclusively, but rather, I stayed away from smoking another Virginia blend or a Vaper so as not to muddy the waters. I enjoyed an aromatic during this time as a change of pace!

***What Are You Smoking, May 2021?***

Just finished a bowl of Embarcadero in this chunky old Peterson before the rain starts to hit up here.

    Flair Espresso Machines?

I can highly recommend numbers two and four because I am acquainted with them. In San Francisco, I can highly recommend Linea roasters as well. Coupa café? Or I had too many so-so coffees there while we’re rushing to and from meetings. But there is some sentimental value there of course.

Smoking an Entire Tin as a Learning Process

I find this discussion fascinating. I take zero offense at @saltedplug 's myth busting post, and I can also see that there's a difference between clearly stating an opinion, e.g. "In my experience...", "what works for me is..." and stating an opinion as a fact, e.g. "It's a myth that...", "no...

Smoking an Entire Tin as a Learning Process

I'm thinking that my next experiment will be to smoke two different types on vapers with differing levels of perique-- maybe something like Orlik Golden Sliced on the light end versus something like Bayou morning, to figure out what my sweet spot is.
