Zippo Fuel Lighter - Taste?
Smell only for the most part. Following those original instructions of old, and focusing on drawing the flame down from further above, does improve the results. I'm not sure they actually provide those "old" instructions with new purchases...- FLDRD

Like all other pipe things, it'll be personal, and only personal experience will tell you. And it will likely vary by your conditions: blend, ambient humidity, breeze (outside?), etc. Mostly just remember to clean the well first. If not, you'll get a reminder!- FLDRD

I love the 314's and have a 1/2 dozen of them. They work very well for the angles and clenching for me and are light. Yet somehow I can get a very good session out of it's bowl size.- FLDRD

Perhaps, perhaps not. I'm just pointing out that some have the habit of turning over their pipe to dump ash, and that will cause problems in a system with a well. It's just a matter of learning to manage your ash in a different manner...- FLDRD

Bad Tobacco ?
Quite a while back, someone (oldnewby ...?) had made up some sample packages for fairly cheap and were listed on the tobacco for sale section.. Made, I think, from his delve into the same beginners exploration process, and he had plenty to share and move along for the next persons exploration.- FLDRD

You could try the System Standard in any model you choose, and get in at about $100 to learn about Peterson systems. Very easy on the clenching. Easy to clean but you just need to train yourself to be aware of the moisture in the well and deal with it FIRST, before turning it over. That means no...- FLDRD
