I do the same thing on occasion. Just recently I laid down pipes and cigars for about a month. I just like to prove to myself that the dog is wagging the tail and not the other way around.
Kinda like fasting...........
Not sure why, but I have always loved the basic, utilitarian aspect of a poker. Short stem, a sitter, squared off lines. Just looks like a good, functional pipe that can take some knocks.
Awww shucks, CE..... everyone can't have a collection like you have......
I love the look of a well-used and smoked pipe. Of course, that may stem from my cleaning and buffing shortfalls...
I had to laugh at the not mistaking the rifle powder for the perique comment.....
While my black powder and ammo is not actually in same storage area, it's pretty darn close. ha.
Cool looking pipe and aptly named.
I am gonna ask a dumb question here, but do you have to place your finger over the hole in the shank in order to draw, or is it just cosmetic??
Talk about hurting your teeth, @BingBong brought up this week not caring for the "P-lip" bit. Do you have problems with that type of mouthpiece, as well??
Bob, you are so right on this. In one of my hobbies, I end up reading many letters written in the 19th century and they are almost exclusively cursive and often times written in a hurry or under duress. Very tough to do, for sure.
I completely understand what you're saying. While I have learned to "adapt" and use the P-lip mouthpiece, it is not a natural fit for me. Good luck with it.
