I got in a little bit of trouble once for using the Mexican "guey" at a European Spanish person. Not sure exactly how one dialect's "dude" becomes another dialect's "cuckold" but I can tell you it makes for an awkward dinner.- chilllucky

After working with a bunch of people from various Central and South American countries, I can tell you that the difference in slang from spanish-speaking place to spanish-speaking place is _way_ bigger than the difference between British and American english.- chilllucky
