Not yet, but man have I been close with 2 different estate pipes. On both occasions the previous owner got murphys soap inside the bowl when cleaning them and I can't stand that taste. I just tried de-ghosting one of them with rum so we'll see how that turns out.
found coffee grounds do amazing things for getting rid of bad smells. Like damp grounds from a fresh brew left in the pipe chamber. Saved a pipe I wasn't going to throw out but wasn't going to smoke ever again. It got some nasty ghost.

Appreciated! The rum and cotton balls method I tried definitely helped, but the murphy soap taste is still there. I'm going to try the wet coffee grounds method next.
