Does anyone know of if there is a repair shop or someone in Houston that can make a stem? I have a Tom Howard that came in an estate lot that needs a stem.
If you don't mind mailing out, I've had great results from Mark Tinsky.I didn't think there was anyone in Houston, but it was worth asking if I could keep it local. Going to send them out to JH Lowe.
I'm going to have to do that. Thank you for the recommendation. If you don't mind mailing out, I've had great results from Mark Tinsky.
Damn. Sucks that he lost his shop.Mike lost his shop in Hurricane Harvey and is retired.
He didn't exactly "lose" his shop, which was in his garage. The flooding where he lived was about 10 inches.Damn. Sucks that he lost his shop.

Mike did if fact loose about everything unfortunately. It's sad but true. That's how he (Butera) described his situation to Mike McNiel (the McClelland Tobacco guy)---they were friends for decades and stayed in regular contact---and McNiel related to me. In my world that qualifies as a reliable source.
Lost his briar, too.![]()
That's what I heard too, from someone in a position to know.Mike did if fact loose about everything unfortunately. It's sad but true.
