Gmorning. Bit of insomnia last night, so started my day with breakfast at 4:00 AM and a pipe at 5:00. Pretty much the usual routine, with a
MM Minicob and my
burley loaded new creation (recipe below) and a
cuppa cold coffee. Wasn't typing so skipped the cheap cigar.
I'm definitely a guy who doesn't like munching or eating before a pipe. Had an agenda with my new
Muxiang Poker, and did something a bit different. Decided what it was going to smoke before the breaking in process. Forced it's hand.
Let's face it. A Poker is a pipe for flamboyant times - card games obviously, football games, guy crowds and obnoxious behavior. I look forward to these scenarios on occasion. And let's face it - my new
Muxiang Olivewood Poker is a flamboyant pipe. So I designed a special tobacco just for it Called it
"Gord's Bargain Basement English." Which is exactly what it is - 2 parts Sutliff Bulk Lat, 3 parts Smokers' Pride Whiskey English, and 2 parts any type of Black Cavendish that's lying around to smooth things out; SP in this case.
Gave it a trial run in the minicob. Then onto the main event.
Prognosis for the pipe? Outstanding! It's a great drawing pipe, and I smoked it a bit more aggressively than usual, thinking of the upcoming Superbowl playoff games, et all . . . . It'll suit the festivities to a "T". And the flamboyant, obnoxious bunch of football friends I have. Perfect fit.
Prognosis for the tobacco blend? One of my best, he said arrogantly. After all, it's a mixture of first class and cheap tobaccos. A keeper for sure. And it's only going to get better as the lat begins to really permeate the mix.
I'm smoking it right now (second photo), my
Pearwood Mr. Brog #25 Kaiser. Having a great smoke in a great little pipe, while waiting for the meds to kick in that'll ruin my day. Calling the event
"This Hour has Seven Warts."
Yes, I have seven new medications. For 30 days. Well, 25 now - was hoping I could get through this post without whining, but apparently not.

. . . . . ttyl.
