A third of a bowl left of year 2014 Astley’s No. 44 in a straight smooth brown pre-republic Peterson’s Sterling billiard 260 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Had a great chat with a long time friend. Going to clean a few pipes.

One hour to go for work today, which has been a huge improvement over yesterday's nonsense.
I usually work a 10-hr. 4-day schedule, which generally leaves me with 3-day weekends just about every week. So my weekends usually start late Thursday afternoons, which is the case today. I've already chosen and prepped my bowl for my post-workday evening smoke.

This afternoon it's going to be Kramer's New Mix, in a somewhat appropriate mid-century '50s-era Wally Frank Dublin-esque churchwarden. Made of genuine "imported briar"! In reality, it's actually a pretty darn nice pipe. I put in on par with my '50s-era Kaywoodie Super Grains.
Not fancy, but very light for a churchwarden, and very easy-smoking. And believe it or not, but that stem is the original! Not bad for its age.

BTW, the sycamore leaf on my front porch side table apparently blew in randomly from the yard some time last night. I just left it there for the photo and worked around it.

Too bad we can't split the difference. I'm enjoying a cloudy 36 degrees here in MO. How's that work, aren't you farther north than me?
Way too warm for December- 61 degrees and Sunny. Too “hot” in the greenhouse at 83 degrees.
I’m sitting under the Gazebo in a short sleeve t-shirt.
A mug of strong Kenya Black tea and some ‘24 Watch City Holiday blend- Bi-Polar Express. The Rutica in this blend provides some potent, deep flavors.

Mario Pascucci -P Rust-2127 (silver ring). Opened a new tin of Robert McConnell — Heritage Ready Rubbed (I’ve written about this blend before, but decided to refresh my impressions). Just like its prototype — the 1979 Dunhill Ready Rubbed — this mixture is composed mainly of matured Virginias, harmoniously complemented by refined African Burley. The tobacco reveals a gentle, nut-like nuance as it develops. According to the manufacturer, Robert McConnell Ready Rubbed has a more pronounced and intense “hay” aroma compared to the original blend. The appearance closely matches the classic as well.
Strength: 1.5–2 out of 5
Flavor family: Virginia-forward
Cut: Ready Rubbed (Broken Flake)
Components: Virginia, Burley
Aromaticing: none

Yes, much further North.
The jet steam is keeping Polar Vortex like weather in east Idaho. The wet weather off the PNW cost is getting pushed north.
Honestly, we need some more fall/winter moisture for water next year.
And some cold temps to help kill more of the insects larva.
