Happy Belated Meerschaum Monday! So, I decided to take the advice of the good @Dshift and put some bend in the stem of my unbranded Meer. I read about how to do that, on the Internets! 😻 It was quite easy.

(As reminder for those interested, here's the old post on this.)

Anyway, I'm really happy with the result:

And today, for the maiden voyage of the new shape, I'm smoking Peretti Dutch Chocolate. 🇳🇱🍫

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am smoking Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight black with a burgundy undertone sandblasted early 1960s Lane era Charatan 420 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the second episode of Aerial Greece.

Winter evening in MN (technically still Fall). Winter storm alert, widespread slick roads, rapidly reduced visibility, intense snowfall predicting 4 - 6 inches in the metro area with some freezing drizzle also expected. 27 degrees.
Hazardous travel (!!!).
Last night, loaded 2 pipes, a Canadian & a MM Cob Diplomat with 2 (+) year old Yorktown which was jarred & never smoked. The Yorktown was well dried. Charring light to each pipe, smoked about 1/3 of each bowl, then set the pipes aside to cool after initial toasting. Made a hot meal with a mug of Taylor New York port wine alongside.
Looking forward to returning to the pipes to see what Yorktown will reveal. Reviews are very interesting.

Yeah, I felt bad about it because we just adored Norton the Nosey, and he loved us deeply. But, giving him a really good home with my long time friend John who really needed Norton was better for both of them. Norton has adapted exceptionally well as I knew he would. He sleeps with John every night, and as John's kind of a hermit, Norton always has company. John really fell for Norton just like we did. Norton doesn't have to worry about Molly Danger or Daisy the Feral Princess giving him so much grief. It wasn't pleasant to see. Norton's full of more joy than just about any cat that I've ever seen, and I didn't want that joy of life diminished by the other cats. I saw that happen to Abner the Eager and Sam the Scamp, and I was not going to let it happen to another cat. But, yeah, we really miss him.
Certainly seems you did the right thing. You have such a loving heart for cats. Something I can really relate to.

Grew up in the northern plains-South Dakota to be exact. But we've lived in Kansas now for the past 34 years. High tomorrow forecast to be low 60's. Definitely more to our liking. :)

Did a little low calorie snacking, fed Sleepy Suzy and Daisy the Feral Princess, emptied the dishwasher, and am smoking Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the original 515 that Basil Rathbone smoked, and the model that he smoked it in. Tomato the Brave ate earlier, and spent a while on my lap. Sleepy Suzy was busy lying on a cat nip sock displaying her innate beauty.

Now smoking first production Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a year 2021 straight black sandblasted Peterson Ragaire 150 bulldog with an unmounted army mount tapered acrylic cumberland fish tail stem. Just let Tomato the Brave in to eat. The other two ferals have been inside snoozin' for hours. Harry the Hairy's been under the kitchen table much of the afternoon, and the entire evening. I'm getting ready to clean a few pipes.
