It's evident that you and I have shared a similar wavelength, only twelve years separate from one another! I've got some of these same mixing components with similar intentions! What was your favorite house blend?
I don't remember exactly, but some combo of Izmir, perique and Union Square is really good - lots of spice and fragrance. And you really can't go wrong with any combination of VA, perique and Orientals because each component tends to round out the rough edges of the other two.

Don't expect a miracle. Or flavor at first.
Well I figure it can't go too bad, starting out with mostly OJKB and it's excellent. But I don't expect it to be just like Riverboat Gambler, I have no idea what ratios they use and then plus it sits and ages in the tin so, all kinds of factors go into it, I'm just messing around. But yeah if it ain't great, I'll just jar it and let it age, I'm sure in a year it'll be hitting pretty good. Will see how it goes though.

I've tried the Cornell blending perique and izmir. It's just dry leather. And I couldn't get much flavor just smoking it on uts own.

Oh no kiddin? Well I don't know, I ain't tried it yet, I like a lot of C&D stuff though. If it's a bust then oh well, I'm still gonna smoke the stuff lol
