GH&Co Black/Brown Twist mixed, Derringer, Dark Sails and Ryback+P were smoked in the Briarlee, a Pete 53, and a Ropp J07 at elk camp.
Rain moved in for the next few days so I came down the hill. Only elk I saw were all over the roads and private property in town, other than the three cow elk (what I’m hunting) that stepped out of the area I’d been hunting for two days onto the road right in front of my truck as I was leaving🤨

Always happens that way or at least it seems like it. I’ve hunted that general area around Payson and that’s happened to me there as well.

Enjoying the sunset, with MacBaren Absolut Choice in the Cosmos Saturn. I am sticking to this one pipe for the time being, basically to eliminate as many factors as possible while learning to smoke pipes. I have a whole box full of estate pipes, but the first month or so, I haven't been able to get any other taste that bitter. I realised that the pipes that i have are just filthy! Even the mouthpieces taste stale!

So i got this one new, and it has made it a lot easier to taste the tobacco.

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. M'lady helped me feed all the cats. Everybody behaved. :)

Morning all. 41° here in Astoria Heights. Bowl of C&D Corn Cob Pipe in a Scottie Bing loaded for the morning lunt with the pup.
Not seen you in this thread. Hello. Gotta tell ya your Runowski quote is one of the best I've seen in a long time . . . . ranks up there with "The Answer to 1984 is 1776." Kinda like my smartass one myself. Guess that's why I put it there lol. - gord

I'd give you one hint from my own experience on being a newbie about 2 years ago . . . . get one more pipe. Cheap. A cob. They smoke great. And use your duo but don't mix regular tobaccos with those containing Latakia (ie Englishes.). Latakia will ghost a pipe and ruin the good one until you clean it out. And note, this is inmo - there are a few that would disagree, but I think they're in the minority.

Welcome to the cult and the best thread in the forum. :col:

Nice pipe, btw. I'm sure a couple of guys who have a lot of estates (I don't) will help you with the cleaning issues.

Bill, I had not noticed before that you have several of the white stem pipes. If you get a chance, I would sure love to see them all displayed.
I have 4 white stem Castellos. A few years ago I saw a guy post and he had a white stem army mount. Costello and I was just so intrigued by it and then I kind of went overboard and got four of them now I’ll take a picture later when I get home.
